I'm experiencing audible cracks and pops from my receiver. They are independent from the volume control (remain at a consistant volume) and are extremely annoying. I have my receiver clustered in together with a cd player, dvd/vcr combo, cable box, and tv. Is this just a case of too much static electricity building up or is it a problem with the receiver.
I have the same exact problem. The static is present even when in a different component input. I fixed the problem by wrapping the end of my antenna wire around a metal coat hanger and hung the coat hanger on the wall above my receiver. I noticed that the most static came when I moved my cell phone around the room. Somehow the coat hanger fixed my static hopefully it will work for you.

I had the same problem. After going through the task of testing every last connection to the speakers, the components and... well everything. It still crackled like crazy. I read on another site that the FM antenna was the culprit. I simply unplugged the antenna and all crackling stopped. I don't use the FM tuner at all so that was no problem for me. But if you want FM I suggest getting a better product.

There is a problem with the reciver my freind. Its only of the driver transistors or IC depending on what componet this amp uses. It can be found by using a heat blower and a can of freeze spry. it most likly will run you 150 or so depending on the exact problem. good Luck

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Mute or Tape Monitor control or Multichannel Analog Input selected.
There is a good chance that a common control may have developed a high-resistance or 'dead
