I'm experiencing audible cracks and pops from my receiver. They are independent from the volume control (remain at a consistant volume) and are extremely annoying. I have my receiver clustered in together with a cd player, dvd/vcr combo, cable box, and tv. Is this just a case of too much static electricity building up or is it a problem with the receiver.
I have the same exact problem. The static is present even when in a different component input. I fixed the problem by wrapping the end of my antenna wire around a metal coat hanger and hung the coat hanger on the wall above my receiver. I noticed that the most static came when I moved my cell phone around the room. Somehow the coat hanger fixed my static hopefully it will work for you.
I had the same problem. After going through the task of testing every last connection to the speakers, the components and... well everything. It still crackled like crazy. I read on another site that the FM antenna was the culprit. I simply unplugged the antenna and all crackling stopped.
I don't use the FM tuner at all so that was no problem for me. But if you want FM I suggest getting a better product.

Do you still hear warning chimes ?
The audible warnings alert the driver of a system concern or a critical vehicle condition. The radio generates the audible warnings. The BCM receives audible warning requests via the class 2 serial data line or the controller area network (CAN) data line. If the BCM receives multiple audible warning requests, the warning with the highest priority sounds first. The following lists the audible warning priority and the pulse rate:
Do you have base or uplevel system ? Who put in the NEW delco radio ? I suggest you watch this video . GMC Acadia Diagnose Radio Volume Stuck On HIGH Part II A GM radio is the same for chevy , gmc , buick etc... an could need programming , just watch eric .He had radio fixed same problem .Some times you can't get away from going to the dealer.
The volume control pod needs to be flushed with electronic control cleaner, unplug and remove back, attach supplied straw and give the pod two or three good blasts in the tiny hole and rotate volume back and forth rapidly to reach desired results.
The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.
Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Source Selection, Mute, Tape Monitor control or Multichannel Analog Input selected.
If you have an aha moment turn the volume to something reasonable and see if that helped.
NEVER USE MAXIMUM VOLUME FOR TROUBLESHOOTING. Turn the volume control to something medium. The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

There is a good chance that a common control may have developed a high-resistance or 'dead

Cracks and pops are dangerous. Can you tell if they might be circuit overloads or maybe digital decoding errors?
Are you routing bass to small speakers. THAT would definitely have audible problems. Define all of your speakers Large vs Small based on their bass-handling capacity.
ONLY DTS? Probably NOT the speakers or amps. How many sources are involved? Could be with the source or cabling.
Does it happen at low volumes, too? Then it would probably be digital in origin.
Do the indicators various digital surround mode indicators flicker or turn off when the pops appear?
As for the rest of your questions, I'd set everything at flat and start all over. If you're maxxing out any settings, something is wrong.
