Motorola Phone My phone got a little wet. I got the battery out and tried drying it and putting it at the light to dry out the water for some hours and the buttons kind of work weird (The number 7 calls Voicemail and down button works as an off button). The on and off works fine though. Is there a way to fix it? Thank you so much.

When you put it next to the light it might have melted part of the circuts in your phone. i have a Mororola RAZR and it got wet, i just put it under a phone for a few days and it dryed out and worked fine. you should try that and if it dosent work you will probally have to buy a new one.

Water damage phone

It is more than likely that your cell phone battery was ruined. I know it's hard to not have a phone but I suggest putting your phone with the back off in a baggie of dry rice for 24-48 hours. You will need to get a new battery. I get mine online at http://www.batteries4less.com. They have a warranty and free shipping. Also a return policy in case you fried your phone trying to turn it in when it was still wet. Honestly probably just the battery though. Good luck!

My samsung smooth got wet i let it dry but will not turn on

Wet Cell Phone
Immediately remove the phone from the water, turn off the cell phone remove the battery and SIM card. When you have driedthe cell phone by putting in a warm sunny place for several days or in front ofa warm fan heater for several hours then reassemble the phone. Hopefully itwill work properly but if does not work then it is faulty and you need a newcell phone.

My phone got a litttle wet and will come on but not all the way. what do i do?

Step One: obtain 8 0z. or more of Silica Gel, buy online, try www.mcmaster.com Two: put in sieve, throw away small granules. Three: Get a shallow ceramic tray, pour gel in 1-2 layers, microwave 3 minutes. repeat this once. Pour dried gel into a air-tight container.
Four: pour a 3/8" thick layer of dried gel into a wide-mouthed, airtight container. Put cellphone in center, bury cellphone in rest of dried gel.
Five: leave this in a dry place for 24 hours. Remove phone and try it, good luck!

My nokia 6300 got wet but i dryed it out and now both blue lights are showing and the phone will not turn on??? help ??

Hello,

First off how did you dry your phone ? Also how wet did it get ? Fall in deep water totally submerged and how long ?

The best way to dry a phone out is to put it in a bowl of dry rice and cover it (seperate the battery from the phone and put both in) close it and wait at LEAST 24 hours before trying to turn the phone on.

If you don't do so you risk shorting your phone out. This is probably your situation. It can damage any number of important parts of your phone.

Basically your stuck with replacing it, as having it refurbished or repaired will not be cost effective compared to replacing it.

Post back if you have any further question's or comments. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Got Wet = Blank Screen

I helped a friend with a similar problem using the solution below, so I am sure it will work unless your phone has shorted out:
  • Remove the battery from the phone immediately -- preferably right after it had gotten wet.

  • Spray the phone liberally through the keypad and inside the battery compartment with a good brand of electronic cleaner such as "CRC QD Electronic Cleaner Quick Drying Formula". It is important for the cleaner to get into the phone to wash out any water and mineral residues as they can cause a short when you put the batteries back into the phone.

  • Allow it to drain and dry, or better, blow dry it with hairdryer set on cold, or turn upside down on your dashboard for a few hours. Do NOT put the batteries back in the phone while it is drying.

  • When your phone is completely dry, put battery back in and turn it on. If it does not come on, put it on the charger. You should see the indicator come on showing "Charging".

  • After a few minutes to a half an hour, try turning your phone on. It should work if nothing has shorted.

Motorola v3 razor water damage

If a phone gets wet, turn it off, get the strongest rubbing alcohol you can find (we have 91% here) and immerse the phone in the alcohol. Let it sit for a minute or two and then take it out and let it dry. The alcohol will either wash away the water or mix with it to make it dry faster so it shouldn't corrode the contacts. This had to be done with the phone still wet from the original spill. Taking it to the vendor, they will look in the BTTY compartment and see that the phone was wet (little paper sensor that changes color if it ever gets wet) and that voids the warranty so you are kind of stuck sorry.

Motorola

Anytime anything electronic gets wet, the first thing to do is remove the battery, electricity and water don't mix, it'll corrode the circuits inside, then let the gadget dry out completely, putting it somewhere warm is good, it might take a few days, if you can get your hands on some fresh dessicant packs (you know, those little "do not eat" packets you get in electronics and cameras and such now and then) they might help dry out the phone if you put them and it in a ziplock bag for a couple days.

if the circuits inside aren't corroded from having electricity on while wet, then the phone may be fine after it's dried out.

good luck.

Motorola Razor Water damage??

have talked with others who tried blow drying & then putting in freezer for few hours with phone & battery separate & yes the red normal after getting H2O damage shows the company out of warranty if you exchange phone through the warranty will be billed I think its like 110 or165 for At&t but if you call talk with them & tell them that phone stopped working screen blanked out & NO the red dot not there that it is white & ship your phone back when they receive it you will then be billed for it BUT when you call back in repeat OVER & OVER that when you sent it in that it was white & not your fault that warranty screwed up most of the time if you complain long enough you will get the charge removed :-) (work for cell company)

V3 got wet

sorry to say this but a wet phone is ruined. You will have to take it to a tech at your phone server. They will either repair it or you will have to get another one. Water and phones do not go together at all. Sux.
