Hourglass Shape I fixed the converge, but I have an hourglass shape. My picture looks like it is projected on the inside of a bowl? Any ideas, before I call the repair man?

Yes check for fluid leakage and see if the crt's are leaking fluid down on board. if so you have to change some caps any that got wet. If not wet at all then something that was fix maybe has a solder bridge on it look carefully and see if anything out of place

Sounds like a loose solder connection on the Convergence board or the convergence power board. If you are savvy and electrically safe, tap on the boards with an insulated screwdriver to see which has the loose connection, and you can resolder to fix. Repair from a service center = $150-300

Sorry Ginko, but a convergence problem would have the curves down from the top and up from the bottom. The hourglass shape is a pincushion problem. This can be as simple as a bad capacitor in the pincushion circuit.

Could you please confirm the model number so I can look up the probable part?

Hourglass shape picture

This is no easy fix it yourself job you need to take it to a repair shop.Ill bet you have a bad cap 16v220uf .its located on deflection board.Also these sets have poor solder connections. ThankYou for using FixYa . Have a Nice Day.
