A few of these (not sure if this model) have two mirrors inside--stupid idea and only a few had that--.

If this is the case here--little mirror (I mean LITTLE) is at bottom pointing up from the optical lens--gets dust and such from the fans= picture gets darker to the point where brightness is very diminished.

Mitsubishi can tell you if it has two mirrors (the large one in rear of set must not be touched and never needs cleaning as any finger prints etc will show in the picture.

If two mirrors I can tell you what to do--15 minute two person job.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-62525 DLP has no picture

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Projection TV WD-62525

I RECENTLY HAD A LAMP ISSUE THAT MAY ASSIST. I HAVE A MITSUBISHI WD-52525 52" DLP. I HAVE OWNED THE UNIT JUST OVE THREE YEARS. THE UNIT INDICATED THAT THE LAMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHEN THE UNIT WAS TURNED ON. I ORDERED A LAMP AND BEFORE IT CAME IN THE UNIT QUIT WORKING. I REPLACED THE LAMP AND WHEN I POWERED UP THE UNIT I GOT A STEADY YELLOW INDICATION AND THEN A SOLID RED. MITSUBISHI TECH ADVICE STATED THAT I MAY HAVE BEEN SHIPPED A BAD REPLACEMENT LAMP. I SENT THE LAMP BACK AND ANOTHER WAS SENT TO ME. THAT LAMP ALSO GAVE THE SAME RESULTS. I CALLED CHUCKS ELECTRONIC REPAIR AND A VERY KNOWLEDGABLE TECHNICIAN RESPONDED TO MY HOME. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD WAS BAD AND THAT THE LAMP NEVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I SPOKE WITH REPRESENTATIVES AT MITSUBISHI SEVERAL TIMES AND THIS WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO BE A POSSIBITLY. THE TECHS AT MITUSBISHI BASICALLY JUST READ FROM THE OWNER MANUEL AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE DOING.

SOURCE: wd 52525 52 in dlp tv screen needs cleaned

all you have to do is, take the 12 screws out from around the screen, from the back, there are also like 4 of them on the front, but usually , you can just lean the screen out far enough to use a swifer sweeper in there, and the dust isnt going to be on the back of the screen, it will be on the projecter, do the screen while the tv is on, then you will realy see the dust on the projecter

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-62525 timer light keeps flashing after lamp replace

There is a tiny reset button to the left of the timer light. Press with a pin or something small, wait 60 seconds. Viola!

I have a zenith lcd projection tv 5yrs old. replaced the bulb last august. It has started to develop a green hue across the screen. it is random, but quite annoying. and confusing. I would appreciate any...

Don't know the exact problem, but typical projection tv's get very dirty and this may affect picture clarity, contrast, and perhaps color, including overheating of components. Make sure you have good airflow, clean filters, and a projection lamp that is free of contamination and finger prints. If you have a setup function, check the colors for purity and integrity

Dark blotches behind the screen

When I had this problem with my 52525 I cleaned the bulb with a lint free cloth. The dark blotches went away.

Inside screen seems to be getting dirty

I had the same problem until I removed the screen and cleaned the front mirror with a static feather duster. First, turn OFF power. Second, remove screws on rear at top and on both sides of the screen. Third, remove speaker grill. Fourth, remove screws on each side of the screen where screen meets the speaker area. Fifth, remove two screws in center area of speaker area under screen. Sixth, lift screen up and away from set housing and use a duster with a two to three extension and GENTLY wipe the noticeable dust layer from the front tilted mirror located behind the screen at bottom of screen. Seventh, do everything in the REVERSE and you're done. If you need to replace the lamp, now's a good time to do so. Also you should clean the dust filter located behind an access door on the rear (right hand side as your are looking at the rear) with a handheld type of vacuum device.

After I completed ALL of the above procedures my WD-62525 was better than I remember. I bought it in 2005 and the picture quality has never looked so good.

The screen is as light as a feather but 62" is awkward. It is recommended you use another person to hold the screen but I work best alone and it was a breeze.

GOOD LUCK.
