Question about RCA P61940 61" Rear Projection Television
I have a 7 year old 61 inch RCA projector TV model p60928 The repair man said it needs a power suppply or HV componts . For them to reapir it the charge is over 400.00 I would like to know if i can buy the parts myself, Where do i get them and a manual ? It's not worth me spending 400.00 but i have a friend that'll help me fix it if i can get the parts. right now i have no picture and no sound only a little click when i hit the power button. Thanks Lisa

The set does not have a blue lamp. The set has a blue picture tube. I have found that the best RCA parts distributor is Union Electronics at 1-800-648-6657. The picture tubes in projection sets are very fragile and dangerous to handle. The new picture tube will come dry, so the lens assembly and seal will have to be assembled onto the new tube and then filled with fresh coolant. The set will then need a complete realignment, everything from screen and focus voltages, bias and drive, yoke and ring position to convergence circuits. If you have no experience in any of the above, do not attempt to replace a picture tube. Allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

SOURCE: RCA DLP TV needs color wheel replaced
I used the internet and found others who had the same problem. Two individuals had a brief description on how to replace the color wheel in a DLP TV. Three small torque screws and a ribbon connector was all that was need for removal; once the access panel on the back was opened. I would guess that this process is the same for all DLP TV's, with some small variations!

he is right to an extent however if you want it fixed it will cost you but the engineer should have been a little more polite about the matter

SOURCE: Have an RCA 60
It is the 169 chassis-over 300 different models used it and are different-answer something for me--does it have a GREEN power light that comes on for a second and goes off?
I know this set well and to be honest hated working on them--Let me know about the power light and I will tell you what I know.
At one point in time this was a very good set--I do understand about paying a lot to get it fixed and having it bad again.
I am here to help people and I bet I know more about this set than almost anyone else here.
