Error code...? My DVD-S80 is now showing me a code: H07 and is no loner reading any discs. Does anyone know what this means? In the manual it says that an 'H' followed by 2 numbers means I need to contact a 'qualified service person'. Does anyone know who that might be or have a number for who to contact? I'm based in Bournemouth so a south coast/southern place would be useful. Ta people!

Hi my Yamaha DVD-S80 havs been great for 6 years and this morning I got an error code H07. Is it the spindle motor or is a cleaning issue?

Hi, I ended up using a boeder cleaning disc a couple of times to see if cleaning the lazer would work. The first couple of times it had a brief effect but then the problem came back so I just did it one or two more times seoaratly so as not to go overkill and it worked. Been fine for months now. Make sure discs are clean when you insert them though, I think this player is quite receptive to dust.

Yamaha dvd s-80 showing error code H01 when trying to play disc. What does this mean ?

The manual isn't much help, is it?

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Yamaha-DVD-S80-DVD-Players-manual/id/320ag210/t/2/

It seems the "H01" is some kind of common and fatal error code in many disc players and I have yet to find anyone who has paid the ransom, er cost, to get one fixed as it is cheaper and makes more economical sense to just buy a new unit...

When trying to play a dvd , it shows H07

Traverse unit (spindle motor & laser assembly combined) is most likely faulty. The motor part usually fails first, which stops the discs from spinning, so the inbuilt laser cannot read them, hence the error code. This can be expensive to replace.

Player stops. H07 appears.

This is a problem with the spindle motor, you can locate where the spindle goes into the motor and spray with wd40 leave for a few mins.

Error code h07

HELLO
I have just recently posted a cure for this - but here we go again. Fault H07 is the fault code for the spindle/disc motor and to cure it do this!
With the lid of the player removed, locate the spindle and where the motor shaft goes into the motor itself, use a little light oil or WD40. Let it soak in a while and try it again - you should now find it works.
Why this works I just don't know - it just does! (:-)

H07 on panasonic

hey I just messed around with mine it was showing that code H07 like the others its kinds the same except it holds 4 more disc, I took the top off then I took the thing that holds cd still off!, there should be a brass thing I think thats for the ground, so I ended up putting some synthetic oil on the rails silver poles that the laser slides on, and where the disc sits on that black circle under it, you can see the motor it has a white thing on the motores pole so I just put a few drops on there then spinds it put some more on hoping it works its way DOWN INTO THE MOTOR thats the H07 not spining fast enough!! I put a disk in while everything was apart and its playing right now, the oil I desided to use was the stuff I use for my paintball gun lol! its really thin and slippory and im sure it will last for awhile!.... going to add more after 15 minutes of playing just to make sure its really lubed! hope this helps!!!!

Dvd

I opened it up and sprayed silicone on the center where the disc snaps on. I also sprayed from a side angle to try to aim it towards bearings/works underneath. It worked!

While stopped, press and hold REWIND and PAUSE on the unit and then also press and hold OPEN/CLOSE on the unit until Initialized appears from the display. Turn the unit off and on again. If it is still not working, Panasonic Consumer Support recommends having the product checked by an authorized Panasonic service center.
