Question about Mitsubishi WS-48613 48" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

TV picture goes out and then comes back, TV eventually turns off

I have a 3yr old Mitusbishi WS-48613 projection TV that just recently started having issues. When the TV is on, the picture will go away then come back multiple times. Eventually the TV will turn off and you can not turn it on using the remote or the front power button. Even using the reset will not help. If you leave it for a long time (overnight) it will then turn on with the remote and work fine (for a while). Also the volume will shoot up real loud on it's own. Anyone have any ideas?

Goes to blue screen, get sound, no picture

A common failure for those symptoms are IC9C25 a BA09FP which is a low saturation 3-pin regulator, Mitsubishi p/n# 270p677030.
Depending on it's failure it can cause slick raster, blue screen or what we refer to in the industry as a venetial blind effect. This is not the kind of repair you want to tackle yourself unless you're pretty competent in electronics and have some fair amount of test equipment. Reason is, although this may ultimately be the only piece of the puzzle it also may not and several diodes in that circuit could also be the cause. You would need to check for any leaks along that circuit and/or intermittent shorts that may have contributed to the failure of that IC..
Short version is take it in and have it looked at professionally. It's worth the expense and you'll save yourself a lot of headache if something more is wrong.

Mitsubishi ws-48613 no power

It seems problem of weak capacitors in power supply and deflection board.
If you have little experience of TV repair and good soldering skills, then check above said boards for weak capacitors.
You also need to have service manual of WS48613 which can be obtained from Manual Zone.
Service manual has schematics and technical information of TV to help in repair.
