  • 1 Insert the two AA batteries into back of the DVD/BD remote.
  • 2 Power on your PlayStation 3 system manually. You can accomplish this by pressing the "PS" button in the middle of your wireless controller, or on the front of your PlayStation 3.
  • 3 Navigate to "Settings" on the PS3 home menu, referred to as the XMB.
  • 4 Scroll down the list of settings and select "Accessory Settings" by pressing "X" on your PS3 wireless controller.
  • 5 Select "Register BD Remote Control" by pressing the "X" on your PS3 controller.
  • 6 Follow the on-screen instructions that appear for registering your BD/DVD remote control. Once the remote is paired, you can control various multimedia applications on your system.

    You can also plug in your Keyboard/mouse (any usb type keyboard and/or mouse will work with a PlayStation 3). That will allow you to navigate the PS3 XMB Menu, as follows:
    1) Prepare the BD Controller.

    Hints

    Unfortunately you can't, you at least need a controller to get to the option in your setting to register a bluetooth device.
