i would check the power supply for bad solder joints or cracks in the traces on the printed circuit board, possible around the heaviest components (usually a transformer) or a loose connector. You can use the eraser end of a pencil to push on components to see if any of them cause the problem to manifest, and if so, turn off the power and reheat the solder connections to that component.

Amplifier chip/circuit is kaput. Unless you are familiar in fixing electronic equipments better to give it for repairs................sodeep
PS. Buying a new one will not be cost effetive unless you need a change!

Had the same problem. Mine the cd drive got out of alignment. Sorry to say the fix is to have it replaced. BOSE will do this for about $150. Typically this includes the one year service agreement, a full system "tune up" and a one year warrenty.
Call BOSE and they will take care of you.

get a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male cable(one end to the laptop headphone jack and the other end to the AUX jack of the Bose wave music system), you are good to go...

Possibly a loose piece inside...you might need to send it into bose for possible repair/replacement of parts.

Thanks John,
Might have to locate that assembly and install myself. It's just a plug and play item. I opened the casing yesterday and found a bunch of dust, dust and animal hair. Might be a case of obstruction of a circuit board. I'll blow it off with a compressor or "can of air".
