Re: FAN ON MICROHOOD CONTINUES TO RUN WHEN PLUGGED IN. HI...
If you have Acrobat Reader you can see an exploded diagram of this model here:
Ref # 110 and 115 are thermostats and ref # 27 is the hood thermal cutout. One of these devices is likely bad.
You can order them via GE online at http://www.geappliances.com/shop/prts/ or via Sears online at http://www3.sears.com
You should also be able to find them at local appliance parts stores.
Here are the GE part numbers and prices:
TCO HOOD REF# 27 WB27X10789 $11.50
THERMOSTAT,BIMETAL REF# 115 WB27X10506 $21.75
THERMOSTAT- BIMETAL REF# 110 WB27X10788 $12.75

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.
(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))
I have model GE Microwave serial # JVM2070SK02. I start to cook something and it shuts off 5~10 seconds. Keyboard is still lit up, but no clock, fan, light and you cannot operate anything on the key pad. Unplug the unit and it resets. Sometimes it cooks, sometimes it doesn't? It is getting more frequent with the shutting down problem?
If the fan comes on when you put the unit into a cook cycle and all sounds normal otherwise, you most likely have a bad magnetron tube. (Google "GE magnetron failure" and watch how many complaints and articles pop up). The tube overheats and trips the thermal relay causing the unit to shut off until it cools back down and comes on. Very, very common problem on these models although GE will not admit it.
