No water thru door

My water stopped comming out thru the dispenser. I disconnected the water line at the bottom of the freezer door and when I push the water button the water will come out of the dissconnected tube. The problem is some where between the bottom of the freezer door and the water despenser. Any idea on how to fix? Thanks for your time,Brian

The stream of water has gradually diminished to zero. The fridge is about 2 years old, and I change the filters regularly. The ice maker works, and no visible kinks in the line were visible when I pulled the unit away from the wall. The freezer is set to 6 degrees. Ideas would be helpful.

I am having the same problem with me GE side by side. I check my gasket and I don't have any screws so I assume that I have a "foamed in place" doors. I did notice when took the front of my ice / water dispensor off the circuit board has a connection named "heater". Is there any way to check heater and if it is bad how and where do you replace it. Thanks.

Removed filter and drained water and then replace filter - the water goes from inside filter down the tube and stops where it connected with the blue under the door of freezer. The water doesn't get to the door to recieve water

I had the same problem with mine. It is a known problem by GE. I talked smart with GE and was able to get a new door for free including installation. Great service, but the box just stopped cooling (5 months later) and I lost my food this weekend waiting for a service call. I have had the cold box three years and know the serviceman by name. GE has been nice but the product has not been as reliable as I would have expected.

I fixed mine by leaving the light on the dispenser on. It took about 6 hrs, but the little heat from the light bulb was enough to defrost the water line.

Sounds like the line in the door is freezing. If you have a gasket that has screws on it you can remove the inner door and insulate the water line better but if your door doesn't have gasket screws then it's one of those "foamed in place" doors. You may also have a door heater that quit working, it keeps the door dispensor area warm to keep it from freezing the little water tube.
