Wacs700 when cd inseted it just says cannot read cd i have looked at manuel but that is of no help

lens cleaner not alway working.use air to blow unit out,,lots of dust inside of units...try to clean lazer with earbud very softly untill it shines,90% its works if not u need to replace lazer and hope its not the mpeg board...im a technician

Yes if you have the Phillips WACS700 and want to install the software that came with the system to upload/download music and you have a windows 7 or Vista you need to open the explorer and go to the CD/DVD folder then look for the .exe change the properties of the .exe files to run in compatibility mode "compatible with Windows XP SP2", then run them from the explorer. I have a Win 7 computer and both software that came with the CD did not wanted to run because they required XP, as soon as I change the properties of the files they ran and installed without a glitch, everything worked as it should and I been able to enjoy my music on the WACS700.

I strongly suggest that you discuss WACS related issues in theStreamium Café (www.streamiumcafe.com). This is where you will find ananswer to your problem (look for the WACHandler" threads where you willfind a link to my application ;)
You can also try the WADM application from Philips. It is made for the newer WACS units but it works with the WAC700 also.

I had the same problem, i have now upgreaded the firmware off the philips site it was released in 2007 and mine had already been done but i did it again and it accepts the CD now, I just need to get it to read the whole cd content

The Philips software doesn't allow copying from the WACS700.

Run a CD cleaner first.
Also, make sure the station has the most recent firmware version.

rip on a pc (win med player) has access to bigger more up to fate library, then transfer using software at http://www.lucia-mathias.com/wacs/ its much better than philips software and allows upload back to pc.

Could be dirty lenses onthe laser head. Try to clean them.
