Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV22 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I've had my Sony TRV22 for a while now and it's worked just fine. I've been able to transfer video over the iLink/Firewire/IEEE 1394 just fine and do the analog passthrough as well. Then, all of a sudden, my PC stopped detecting my camera. I'll plug the camera in, turn the power on (or the opposite way) and it won't detect it. The camera viewfinder in VCR mode shows "DV-IN" but nothing pops up on the PC and my video capture software doesn't show the camera. The Firewire port on the PC is fine because I transferred video from another camera to it without trouble. Any ideas? Could it be that the port on my camcorder went bad? Any settings that might have inadvertantly gotten switched?

The industry is cheating us by not putting up such information on the web sites. I found your answer. You need other software...

SOURCE: is there any firewire port IEEE 1394
Yes, DCR-HC52E has IEEE 1394 port, it would be labled as iLink or DV
Check left to power jack.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Does the Sony DCR-SR47 Camcorder has IEEE 1394
DCR-SR47 does not have IEEE1394/ DV link port, since its HardDiskDrive camera so utilize USB port to transfer movie clips files.
Thanks.
