remove oil check stick,Tilt it over and let it run out of the hole. New tech,lol.

How is your compression? If it is low, your piston rings and/or the cylinder walls could be damaged and pulling oil up to the combustion chamber, which will burn oil and foul the plug. If you overfill the oil you could possibly get this also. When was the last time that you changed the oil and/or put oil in it? Do you currently have proper oil level?

Look under the mower for a square plug or allen wrench type plug, this will be your oil drain for the motor.
Some of Briggs & Stratton motors do not have an oil drain plug...
If you do not have an oil drain plug then you will have to run the mower to get it warm, then remove the oil fill plug and tip the mower towards the oil fill plug to drain out the oil thru the fill plug hole.

underneath the deck there is a plug, sit mower on bricks/wood and pull plug and use a bucket to catch old oil. Tim

Usually at the base of the engine, it will usually be a square nut, plug about 1/2" in size.

2 plastic one's on front and back are to check and fill oil.
metal plug in bottom of case is to drain oil.

If there is a dip stick add some oil check the level till you get to the full mark. It should take a little more than a quart. If there is no dip stick then there is an oil fill plug down low on the engine. Fill slowly until the oil reaches the threads in the engine housing (almost overflowing). Be sure to replace the plug or you will have oil everywhere when you start it.

Don't just dump the oil in, check the level as you go!

should be a drian plug on the bottom of the mower engine, just drain and tighten up the plug and refill. they usually hold about 16 to 20 ounces of oil. Go buy briggs and stration oil at walmart or kmart just the right amount
