SOURCE: The printer doesn't recognize the new original HP color cartridge

There is a small spring that holds the ink cartridge in the ink holder. You will see it stick out from the right hand side of the ink holder where the ink cartridge slides in. If that spring isn't being held to the ink holder by two plastic tabs, (I.E. the plastic tabs are broken) the printer will never recognize the cartridge. If the printer is still under warranty I would contact HP or an authorized repair center for HP. Both the black and color ink holder has this spring. I know of no way to repair this kind of breakage.

I would recommend you genuine drivers by going on the HP website only. You would be required to choose the operating system and then youcan proceed with driver download.

After refilling my hp d2660 cartridges, it prints cyan and yellow colors only. Black does not print at all

Same here! I even bought new cartridges for it but it didn't work! Got tired of it! Nothing but garbage!

Hp deskjet d2660 resume light blinking fast.. while power and cartridge lights turnoff.. what is this problem?

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.
Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage. Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head. Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now If that does not work then follow the next step.
Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

Black cartridge is not working and blinking

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

Why stil show empty after installation of refilled ink cartridge

Hi there,

As you were using a refilled ink cartridge, it needs to be reset. When you refill your cartridge, it will read as low or empty when you try to print with the cartridge.

There was a embedded serial number in the contact strip located on the back of the cartridge and your printer remembers that serial number and gives the message of low or out of ink. The internal memory is located in the printers firmware and is not in the software. It will remember the previous two cartridges ink level.

On this matter I need the exact model of your HP printer so I can assist you more further on this.

Always used hp tri-color print cartridge in in my hp psc 2355 all-in-one printer. Has stopped working. Says printer has wrong tri-color cartridge inserted

Check manual for appropriate cartridge class for tri color and use same numbers as in manual you may be using 22 cartridge for 28 for example for your printer this cartridges look the same in all aspects but some HP printers can only be used by only one of this types. Check printer manual for compatible ink cartridges. And if you have been refiling the old cartridge you need to get a new one to reset the computer cartridge memory count.
