Question about Philips Standard 104SLE 14 in. CRT Monitor

1 Answer

LED remains OFF

While using my Philips 104S color monitor I heard a sharp sound like a small gunshot. After wards when I rebooted my computer, even though the fuse of the monitor is okay, it wasnt powering on. The on/off LED also seems to be OFF even though the power cable is okay. I suspect a high voltage circuit is shot but How do I check that and What should I do? I opened the cover and lot of dust seems to have settled in. After cleaning also it didn't turn On.

My screen size is reduced not any problem but when i use the keys on monitor they instead of widing or giving the normal screen size it became 1 inch shorter now i need some help with my moniter it looks...

Try holding the control button down on your keyboard and while holding it down, use the scroll wheel on your mouse and rotate it slowly one way or the other. This will increase the size of your screen (or decrease it depending on which way you turn the wheel).

Green light flickering & Sunset red screen display.

You've got components that have gone bad, probably from age and the normal heat inside a CRT monitor case.

I hate to say it, but it's really not worth fixing. You can usually find a used but working 17" monitor for under 20 bucks.

Monitor keeps blank even the power lLED is on green

If it's working fine in DOS, it can only be your display drivers for your operating system. What happes when you start in SAFE MODE? When you PC starts, keep pressing the F8 key, go to Safe Mode. If it works, bring the Resolution down to 800 X 600 and load the new display card drivers. Restart, should be fine.

Princeton VL1715 startup problem

Have you disabled your onboard video in the BIOS? Boot your machine with the vga cord to the motherboard. You need to get into the BIOS. Depending on the make of your machine you need you will need to hit the del key, f2, or even f1. Go to the periphrial setup and disable your onboard video. Save the BIOS turnoff the computer and plug the monitor into you vga card. That should do it. To change it back to your motherboards vga just reverse the instructions. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
