Why does my Seiki DVD player say incompatible region?

It's possible that the DVD you are trying to play was manufactured for a different region than the one your DVD player is set to. DVD players are designed to play DVDs that are encoded for a specific region or regions. For example, a DVD player that is set to Region 1 will only play DVDs that are encoded for Region 1.
You can check the region code of your DVD player by looking at the back of the player or consulting the user manual. You can also check the region code of the DVD you are trying to play by looking at the back of the DVD case or consulting the information that came with the DVD.
If the region code of your DVD player does not match the region code of the DVD you are trying to play, you will see an error message like the one you described. One solution is to try setting your DVD player to a different region and trying to play the DVD again. However, keep in mind that most DVD players can only be set to a particular region a limited number of times, and once the limit has been reached, the region code can no longer be changed.
It's also worth noting that some DVDs are encoded for multiple regions and will play on any DVD player, regardless of the region code. If you have a DVD that is encoded for multiple regions and it is not playing on your DVD player, there may be another issue at play.

Incorrect disc region code

Look at the region code of the DVD that plays on the vehicle DVD if it is the same of the others that do play it's not a region code issue. If the others are a different region to the DVD that plays or the disc says it is region free. Then you might have a problem with the region code settings on the machine. You can look up the model number of that player to see if you can change the region code.
Otherwise check out the player to see if it needs cleaning or is faulty.

Trying to play dvd but says wrong region soneynhv-dx350ab?

Hi, if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution. Home Index DVD Region Codes

In order for you to view a DVD's content, the region code on the DVD and the region code for DVD Player must be the same. Your DVD drive is automatically set to a region code the first time you play a coded DVD. If the region code for a DVD does not match the current region code for DVD Player, a dialog appears for you to change the code for DVD Player.
IMPORTANT: You can set the region code for DVD Player only five times (including the original setting). The fifth time you change the code, it will be permanently set. The following map and table indicate the code for the various regions. Some DVD discs can be played in any region, and are sometimes referred to as having region code 0. These discs can be played regardless of the region to which DVD Player is set.

Wrong Regional Disc.

DVDs are ecoded with region codes to indicate what area of the world they are made for. These codes may be 1,2,3, etc depending on which region they are made for.
DVD player read these codes and if the disc region code does not match the region the device is made for, the player will not play the disc.
Region 1 is for USA so most DVDp players made for use in USA require region 1 discs.
Some DVD players called multi region DVD players can be set to play different region DVDs but they are typically more expr=ensive then one region players and the code must be changed each time a different region disc is played.

I bought a DVD and I played it on my laptop. It worked on the laptop but when i put it into the DVD player it wouldn't play. So I tryed playing the DVD in the PC and it also worked on there. Again I...

DVD movies have region codes, and they typically only play on a player or DVD-ROM drive sold in the country where the DVD movie was sold.

The actual region code is in one byte on the DVD (digital versatile disc). The DVD player or drive has a region code in its firmware. Personal computer DVD-ROM players often have the code in the software or MPEG-2 decoder. The two codes must match for the player or drive to play the movie. The code is also printed on the back of a DVD package, superimposed on a small image of the globe.

DVD regional locking is used to control which DVD movies play in which countries or groups of countries. Movies are often released on different dates around the world. Region 1 has its own player that will only play Region 1 discs. Likewise, Region 2 players can only play Region 2 discs and not play any of Region 1's discs. The six codes are:
  1. United States and Canada
  2. Europe and Japan
  3. Southeast Asia
  4. Latin America and Australia
  5. Russia, rest of Asia and Africa
  6. China
please check the DVD region code again and what PLAYER u are using to play on PC / LAPTOP??

where did you buy the DVD player??
