It's almost like one side of the paper feed is feeding the paper through and the other isn't. This creates a jam on one side. Sometimes it will work properly then pull the 'Paper Jam' routine when there isn't one. I hate to throw the printer out; it is less than 1 1/2 years old.
We find a drawing pin in ours - ten points for the "picking upside down and shaking method"!!

Worked great! and worked out some frustration at the same time!! I added in a lot of "whopping" along with the above suggestion. Didn't take long to see that a peanut M&M was the cause of the problem. I have an abandoned printer with same symptoms at home, can't wait to work it over. Finally, a solution in the high tech world that I can handle! Thanks!

I'm on site tech support for a client in Winston-Salem, NC - we found a pen in ours. Bless you all for the idea to check. I would've never looked had I not seen this site.

Mine had a crumpled up shred of paper in it. I had to unbend a paper clip to dig it out. After alot of digging, and shaking, and partially disassembling the printer, I got it out. Thanks for the tip

I had this problem too. But instead of chewed gum I found a little plastic toy inside. Kept the printer (deconnected) up-side-down and the problem was solved!

I had exactly this problem. The roller side of the paper fed through, the other side did not feed at all. After trying different sheets of paper and watching the printer jam 10 times, i finally peered inside and saw a pieced of dried up chewed gum inside. None of my 4 kids knew anything about it. Using a ruler I removed the gum and solved the problem.

it seems like it is only feeding from one side and not the other
