It's been less then 2 year I got this TV (I bought it new) and now I have a big problem.
There is a large black bar in the middle of the screen (like 2-3 inch), It's really annoying and frustrating. I tried all resolution, always there and I always see it when their is a movie of a tv show with high luminosity, I see it less though.
Any word to help will be really great and appreciated since the samsung support deserve no star ;)

You will need to replace the Main board and I would also replace the LVDS cable that connects the main board to the LCD panel.Very easy to do, but might take about 2 hours depending on your comfort level.
You will need:
LVDS cable – Part # 0500-0505-0540
Main board – Part # 3632-0652-0395
Those part numbers will work if you have a model number VOJ320F1A.
If you post the model number I will try to find the part number for you.
2 things that will cause that vertical IC or Yoke! Listen to this one went on service call 2wks ago Customer had a 50 INCH1988 pioneer big screen replaced 3 capacitors resolder poor connections TV is now working like New ?
Ok if your hitachi TV dies with no power anywhere try this: Some models have a kill switch under the bottom edge. It's like a gray switch like a small light switch press it back in and voila let there be LIGHT. Saves you at least a $200 trip to repair shop!!
I have the same problem with my panasonic plasma..I can clearly see 2 side bars when the Tv is off..the left one is more obvious to see..When I watch a movie at night I can't see it. I have no idea how it did happen but I talked to circuit city and they are willing to replace it since it is still under a month..it is anoying though to have to deal with such problems. I bought my TV june 21st.
It will burn into the screen overtime. The Akai units have a resistor on the address board that feeds the PDP that usually has a crack in the solder on one or both ends of it. There are about 4 address boards that are right below the panel itself and the suspect one is the board right below the line that is appearing. Have someone with solder skills repair it.
