The specs I am reading online are saying that it has digital coax connection. If your hooking up hd cable or hd satellite box some of those have a digital coax output on them. If your hd cable/satellite box only has optical out the system you have says it comes with a optical to coax converter which is pretty cool. So you should definately be able to hook up that sound system to your cable/sat box digitally for best sound. The only other way would be to run stereo red, white cables from your cable/sat box to your stereo as a last resort.

My Insignia 37" LCD TV only has four audio input jacks. How do I connect my surround sound to my TV

Depending on how you have it set up, and what inputs you have on your TV/surround sound system, you can connect your surround sound through HDMI or optical cables. Otherwise, you can use standard composite (red, white, yellow) or component (red, green, blue).

hi,
Is there is any optical digital output in your satelite HD. Then connect that optical digital output of satelite HD to the optical digital input of your surround system (blue ray player) using an optical cable.
Then press the function button on the remote of surround sound system (blue ray player) and select D.IN. (D.IN means DIGITAL IN). You will get the audio through the surround sound system. if you need any more assistance fell free to contact me through fixya.

I have audio cables going from HD 61g887 jvc tv, to my phillips surround sound system under aux but it is not giving me sound?

hi
you didn't mentioned the model number of your surround sound system, for a better solution its important. any why try the following.

if you are connected the analog audio output of your tv to the system using RCA cable, then go to the setup of the surround sound system and change the input assignment setting from digital to analog.
If your connected the digital output of your tv to the digital input of your surround system using optical cable then, goto the setup of your surround system and change the input assignment to digital (optical) input.

I want surround sound. How do I hook up my audio 5.1 RVC-884VBK, with my HDbox and LCD TV? It's too confusing. What hooks to what? Currently the HD box and blueray DVD is hooked straight to TV ...

Does you television have an "Optical Audio Output"? This would be the best and easiest way to get surround sound from your system. If your TV has an optical output the you can use an Optical Cable to connect the TV to the reciver. This way whatever you are watching from the TV will be in surround sound. The HDMI connection sends a surround sound signal from each device to the television. If you connect it to this output on the TV then make sure the optical output is turned on in you telivison's menu. If your TV does not have an Optical Audio Output then you will need to connect each optical output from the blu-ray and HDbox to your reciever. Your reciever will need to have two Input channels(one for each device). Then you can select that input to the device(blu-ray or HDbox) that you are using. The optical cable is the best way to go for surround sound because it is pure digital and produces the best sound. If the HDbox or Blu-Ray does not have an optical output then you will need the six rca jacks to get the surround sound. Let me know further info on what you have so I can assist you more.

HOW TO CONNECT SAMSUNG 40 LCD TV TO SAMSUNG SURROUND TZ215 THRUGH SKY + HD BOX.

you will need the following = HDMI LEAD
Optical Audio Lead
Red and White phono Lead

Sky HD Box > connect to Tv via HDMI Lead.

Sky HD box > Connect the optical Audio, and the Phono Leads To your Surrounds sound.

The reason I am wanting you to connect the phono's as well as the optical audio out. Not all programs are transmitted with Dolby D so you will need these for normal sound to come through your surround sound.

One last thing I would like you to check is the sound settings on your Hd box.

OLD PROGRAM GUIDE:
On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 4, 2, then ensure that Dolby D is displayed if not highlight and using the blue button change this to Dolby D. then arrow down to save.

NEW PROGRAM GUIDE:
On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 0, Arrow along to SOUND then arrow down and change this to DOLBY D Then press the GREEN button.

Hope this Helps you out. IF so please leave a thumbs up
