Cameras lense open, camera off, when turned on it bleeps and turns itself off

I have a Samsung Digimax V800 and make the mistake of letting my dad (who doesn't understand technology) take it out for the day. When he returned it he told me its broke. It was perfectly fine before it was given to him. The problems are that when its turned off the lense is open. When i turn it on the lense makes an odd sound as if its trying to close. When i press any buttons it bleeps 3 times and then turns off Its unable to close the lense still. I've tried connecting it to the PC, however nothing happens.

I have a similar problem. I gave it to samsung service centre and they have informed me that a part is broken, which is not available in india. The part no is DW051015 ( Cam- Barrel assembly).

Can any one suggest as to where i can get this part?

I also had exactly the same problem, by giving the lense a very gentle push I was then able to close it.

Can I buy a replacement 2.5 lcd screen for samsung v800 camera

Opening the camera without damage will be the deal breaker. Samsung service centers will give you the cost to fix it.

Screen does not work, stays black

Water and LCD screens don't mix. I'd say the screen itself is shot, and will need to be replaced. However, I cannot find anyone selling these parts. Your best bet may be to watch for a broken one on eBay - so long as it's not the LCD that's broken, and buy it for parts.

Check sd card

The V800 works with SD cards. Your new 16GB card is a SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in this camera. You need to go with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

What capacity SD card can I use in my Samsung Digimax V800, I was told only 1GB is this true. Thanks

The manual only guarantees cards up to 1GB. However, SD cards go up to 2GB and such cards should work. Cards larger than 2GB are SDHC and will NOT work.

Samsung Digimax as a webcam??

I know this isn't the answer you wanted to see, but no. The V800 was designed as a camera, storing images (and videos) to a memory card, not to stream them live to another device.

Low battery display

i had a similar problem...my lense woudnt go back in either, but it kept saying low battery and bleeping. I realised that my lense was stuck skwint, and that was what was causing the problem, once i straigtend up my lense it folded bak into the camera and worked fine wen i turned my camera on :D

Samsung Digimax L730 Digital Camera

I encountered this issue today while taking a photo of my dog she licked the lens... the LCD screen went all blurry and I was unable to take any photos. The thing kept beeping at me and I was about to throw it in the bin until I had a good look at the lens. As there was a picture coming through on the LCD I knew it wasn't completely stuffed however as the camera couldn't focus an image it gives the unhelpful beeps which apparently translates to clean the lens! So i gave it a clean and presto it was fixed!

Just be careful when u clean it make sure u don't scratch the lens with rough material or use chemicals. Hope it works.
