I have a LG 42PG6010 that will not let me change inputs, also when swithed on the green power light flashes 5 times before set comes on to digital tv. It will not change to Sky when box switched on and as stated I can not change through the AV input button although the graphic comes on screen allowing me to select AV1 (sky input) but on presing OK it freezes on screen, I then have to switch off and back on again. the other thing is it takes 20/25 seconds to switch off.

Leaving set unplugged overnight following morning switched on, able to change channel twice then locked up again.

SOURCE: LG - 42PX5D Input switching problems

I think the problem stems from the HDMI port and scart ports, i have read somewhere on a sound and vision web site that these two conflict and when HDMI is in it only sometimes blocks out the scart signal. This could be what the problem of the freezing is, as when all said and done its just a very large pc monitor; and look at the trouble they can get in!.

Remove one at a time the Y sus and Y buffer cables that go to the power board and see if the set stays on then, you may have a distorted pic, replace the board that makes the set stay on...there are some transistors on the buffer board that give issues a lot and I'd guess that's where your issue is at

I have an LG model 37lc2d the screen is black but has illumination and no sound at all and the green power light flashes 16 times upon powering up?

Things to check: Make sure your TV is set to the correct input.
I DK about the light flashing 16 times but that could be a stuck key on your remote control. If you can, urn off your remote and try turning on by hand and going through the "INPUT" choices to make sure you have it on the correct setting. BTW, if your TV is 5 years old, you'll make the money back in no tie if you get a new "Energy Star" TV. The new Energy Star TVs run on very little electricity compared to 5 years ago.

Change the power supply board. Do a google, ebay or shopjimmy.com search with your model number for price and availibility. Be sure to match the numbers from your board to theirs. Take the back off the set and trace the power supply via the AC plug up wires.
