Green convergence squeezed top and bottom

My philips 60pp9202 has a problem with the green convergence. the picture looks like the green portion is being squeezed from the top and the bottom causing green shadowing humps on the top and bottom. the picture in the center of the screen is fine. the clock also jumps ahead by 25 minutes when the tv is turned on and needs to be reset each time. i don't know if these are related. tv repair man looked at it 2 months ago, contacted philips and says he doesn't know how to fix it. please help chris

SPEED BUMP OR BOWING

Your convergence chips and convergence resistors are going bad. When they fail the screen colors will look distorted/3d looking. Another symptom is one or more colors can't be converged using the convergence menu. You can purchase the parts over the internet. Just make sure you get Sanyo brand convergence chips and the correct flame proof resistors. You can also check the site www.TvRepairKits.com for a kits.  Just make sure you replace both of the convergence chips and all of the convergence resistors.

Tv convergence

You will need to have a qualified technician replace the convergence IC's and possibly 2 resistors
If you are somewhat experienced with properly unsoldering the old parts without damaging the pc board you can replace the IC's yourself.
Most Philips CRT Projection televisions use 2 generic number STK392-120. These are mounted on a large aluminum heat sink
and soldered to the bottom of the pc board
There are sometimes 2 or more resistors that may be burned most often these are 6.8 ohm 1 watt

These parts can be found at www.tritonicsinc.com be sure to get the "original Sanyo" or the Philips brand, do not use the cheaper versions that come from China

good luck
