Question about Edimax BR-6104 Broadband Router. One 10/100M WAN Port and 4 10/100M LAN port.
I have several computers connected to DSL through an EDIMAX router and a modem. Till yesterday I had an Alcatel modem, and everything was fine. Today the modem was changed to Aztech 600E, and I can't configure the router properly. I know the protocol is PPPoE, and I have set all parameters correctly (I hope...), but I fail to connect to my ISP. A single computer connects with no problem through the new modem.
Does your router automatically set the ip addresses for each computer, or do you have to set them up yourself? Is the computer that can connect the one that is directly connected to the modem? if it does and you asked windows to repair the connection it probably is messed up. check in the router settings to see if your pc's are on the same ip address route (e.g 192.168.x.x), but not all the same last digit; and the subnet masks are all the same (eg 255.255.255.0)

Are you able to view your ISP's WAN IP and SUBNET MASK, PRIMARY DNS SERVER AND SECONDARY DNS SERVER, in internet settings in your router, as sometimes you have to telephone them and manually input the settings as i had to do with Onetel Telecom, but with TalkTalk I don't have to it's automatically recognised by my wireless router.

Sorry, wrong model - I don't have the wireless modem, just a regular one.
My computers identify the router. Each gets a separate 192.168.2.* address. Note that nothing has changed except for replacing the modem.
The problem is that the router does not connect to the ISP.
One of the computers (set apart from the others, and not connected to the router) is my "benchmark", allowing me to connect to the Internet not through the router (and write this comment...).
OK, it turned out that:
When the technician firt connected the Aztech modem to the DSL, he defined it as a router.
This worked fine for a single computer, but when the Edimax router tried to connect, it failed.
The solution was simply to reset the modem to its defaults.
Now the modem plays the role of a modem, the router plays the role of a router, and all computers connect well.
