Question about Samtron 76df 17" CRT Monitor

1 Answer

Changing monitors I have a Samstron 76E 17ins CRT and decided to change it to a LCD monitor. However I did not get a wire with the LCD monitor and I don't know how to take the wire out of the old (samtron 76e) monitor. Does the wire not come out of the monitor or do I have to screww the back off? Please help Thank you Bal

If the video cable will come out of the monitor the connector will look like the one that is connected to the back of your pc on the other end with 2 long screws. If its simply a wire straight in you cant remove it. If you mean the power cable, you will need the same 3 pin connector as a kettle has, or it will have a special connector which normally has a voltage regulator built in the plug

I get a box that says ''Out of Frequency Range''

Is it an LCD or CRT monitor? Sounds like a cable to me. If it's an LCD, then just change out the cable. But if it is a CRT, then it will be more difficult because it is wired directly into the back of that type of monitor.

Change power output from motherboard

Windows will automatically install your desktop monitor using generic drivers. But if it doesn't, go to safemode by pressing F8 before it goes to windows. Change your settings from there. Also, normally, CRT monitors can take more than LCD monitors.

Two horizontal lines

Please verify the same monitor with other computer, Else try changing the display card if you have a CRT monitor. If you have lcd try to workit on other PC, If you get the same result from other computer ; you need to change LCD of your monitor.

My samstron monitor goes dead after 5 min

Hi,

The problem is not yet serious, no parts yet to replace. That is a result of a "cold solder" of the parts inside. Open the case, clean it with a soft brush and look for these cold solders on the circuit board... resolder what you find and check every pin...

see picture, the rings are somewhat the start of disconnected pin from being soldered.

After that test the monitor..... That's it... Fixya me okay...
