I have a Sony Mavicap MVC-FDR1. Suddenly, I cannot save to new floppy disks. The "Disk Protect" sign appears on the screen whenever I try to save a photo. If I put in a disk that already has photos on it, I can save additonal photos on that disk. But, you cannot erase an incorrect picture. I have tried to format the disk....will not let me format. I have checked disk type...they are exactly the same as old disks. I have checked...the lock tab is in the unlocked position. What is going on? Is there a setting that can the accessed to remove this protection? Can anyone help?? Thanks, RVerrette

Try to use a can of air and blow out the inside where the disk goes. The sensor may be dirty.

The first thing to check is the floppy disk itself is not protected, what this means is on the left/right corner of the floppy disk is a little tab that can be moved up or down. Check to make sure the disk is not locked (usually symbolized by a lock symbol on the disk). If that does not work, you might have a bad floppy drive
