My phone nokia 1100 was on redial mode. The screen then freezed in that mode, all the keys could not work. I decided to reset by removing the battery and putting it back again. After that the phone couldn't even turn on.

Your phone got infected by a phone virus. Usually a hard reset can help solve the problem. Most nokia symbian series phone can be reset using this code *#7370# and the default key is 12345.
Just format your phone by the following way
To Format the phone
1)Switch off the phone
2)Hold 3,* and Green button simultaneously
3)Now press the power button holding the 3 button, After 5 seconds leave the 3 buttons
4)You phnoe should say, formatting and all your data would be reset to factory orginal
CAUTION: You will loose all the data and contacts stored in phone memory, But this is the only way
Decided to try running a magnet over the phone front & back horizontally and vertically, like I had read other people did to fix other freezing problems. IT WORKED!!! :D
Hi,
This problem could only be solved by the nokia care centre.
1.This problem is happened due to chip failure, that leads to the displaying of text "test mode".
2.This chip is too small,so only nokia care centre can fix this problem.
All I can say is a HARD RESET will solve your problems(and eventually all your problems)! First backup the important stuff like the contacts, messages, apps, etc. using the Nokia Content Copier available from the Nokia PC Suite. Then switch off your phone. Now, press and hold the ' * - Star', '3', & 'Call - The Green key that you use to recieve a call' together and switch on your phone. Keep the above mentioned keys pressed till you see the "Select Region" screen.
I believe your phone is fine and all others experiancing this type of problem. This will typically occur after you have enter wrong codes. Even perhaps if you have taken the SIM chip out and attempted to try it in another phone, then put it back into your 1100. If you call Tracfone they will tell you that you need a new device as they told me. I refused that notion and simply tripped the device as I have done simularly with other devices for a long time. Dont take it to the shop first or reset to factory settings or get a new phone just yet.
When the phone resets and turns on immediatly preform a manually shut-down of the phone. This should discontinue the phones cycle of turning on and off. Take the batt out and put it back in if you need to.
Manually turn the phone back on and immediatlly toggle between pressing the volume keys the enter button and the clear button in sequence untill you can get to the menu, or just press the clear button. "Long end short" get to the main menu as quickly as allowed.
This must all be done in a quickly performed sequence before the phone decides to reset again.
Get into your menu, go to your prepaid option, go into code entry mode. Your safe!!! You should notice that when you make it into code entry mode the phone stops resetting. I attribute it to the idea that tracfone network aka (telecom) thinks that you have spent some more $$$ on their pre-paid mins.
So the phone has stopped resetting once in the code entry mode. Wait a few minutes. Then exit out of code entry mode, and resume normal function. Your phone will have stopped random reset and work normal again as you successfully tripped the system!!! This is a system problem or some standard protocal the system runs!!!
If a couple minutes in the code entry mode does not work. Try again just give it a little more time.
Not sure for same on all phones in all areas-
