Motorola A1000 rebooting

Hi, My motorola was dropped. The screen was the only thing that cracked. Now I tested it and found that I could still use the joystick to navigate but then the phone now continuous reboots itself and sometimes does not get past the Motorola 3G screen. It just reboots. After a while (leaving the battery out and then connecting it again) it starts fine, stays on for some time and reboots and gets into a loop hole again. If it receives a sms it does the same. Is the phone damaged completely or will getting a new screen solve my problem. Please help me as I don't know where to turn and I just saved up for this phone. Where can I get a screen as it is not available where I stay (in Zimbabwe) Please can anyone help me. Alvin..

    I have the same problem even the part whit the broken display...only rebooting...How you solve the problem ,man?

You will need to get the phone flashed that means get all of the phone settings and files installed again then ur phone will have none of the files u stored on the phone but if its on the memory card they will not be wiped out

My motorola lcd touch screen brokened

Hello,

The screen of the a1000 model is composed of 2 parts, the lcd display and the touchscreen pannel wich are both secured in the same housing, protected by a metal frame. Even if you only broke the lcd screen (and the touchscreen is still ok) in most cases, a service center will replace the entire screen assembly. It will cost somewhere around $100-200 depending on wich service center you choose. If you try this operation in a service center, the costs will be greater because you will buy a new screen and pay the labour part. It would be greater if you can buy a second hand broken a1000 with a good display and change it yourself. A1000 and the P9xx series are very easy to dissasemble and work with. You may receive further informations and pictures if you reply with this request.

The short answer would be to try to avoid a service intervention to the phone. It will be very expensive. the a1000 model was made in 2003 so the spare parts that can be found today are expensive and hard to find. Try finding a second hand unit, you may strike a good deal with it.

Rebooting of a1000

No it is not unsolvable problem, i have fixed my problem by flashing with basic firmware and now it is working much better than previous. so flach it.
