The remote control on my Samsung LE32R51BD has lost all of its functionality, except for the volume control which still works. The red LED on the TV still flashes when I press a button, but I even have to turn the set on using the main power button on the TV

There could be a cable that is not completely seated inside the set, there may be a software upgrade also that will fix it.

The tv doesn't respond to remote commands. I've change the batteries. I get a slow response then nothing for a few minutes. Can't even turn volume up or down

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. Surf the site with patience. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

I have a 32" GE XS Stereo- Commercial Skip T.V. Model# 25GT270 Made in Mexico Aug 1999 > No remote. I purchased a GINORMOUS universal remote control new in the box from 2nd hand store. No instructi

:),a tv does not use either play or stop commands,in most universal remote u need to set the apropriate code for the tv set so u can use volum, chanells and other tv specific commands.
In order to do that u need the manual!!! many china remotes have printed on the back of the box a long list or have a very thin paper hide in the box eith several codes.
good practice:a universal remote use a SET button and a TV button, that if u press at the same time will enter the mode set tv code.if u don,t have the code, press once again set after set+tv,will enter the scan mode, keep the remote pointed on the tv,if lucky after a short time(1 minute) the remote scanned and found the tv so u can enjoy some commands.many tv set have comun codes that will make a remote with no apropriate set to stop in a not full mode,so u only will acces part of the commands...post video and fotos

The samsung lcd tv remote control has stopped

Hello Jacqui,
When you press the number button or other buttons on the remote do they Feel Stuck? The reason I ask this is every remote I have ever Had always ends up getting something spilt on it.
If It feels like the button are sticking then you could always try cleaning it with a baby wipe or something similar Not a sopping wet cloth.

If the remote seems to be ok you can always check your remote is working. Firstly you will need a mobile phone that has a Camera on it.

With you mobile set it up so that your camera is on. Now what I would like you to do is Point your Samsung TV remote at it and press the buttons. Whilest you are looking at your remote through you phone you will notice that a light appears. This is due to the camera Phone not liking infra-red, ( you can not see this with the naked eye.) So try your power button and you will see what I mean. Now try the other buttons and you will see which buttons are not working and those that are.

If after doing this that certain buttons on the remote are not working full stop what I would suggest you do. Rather then buying another Samsung remote as they can be really expensive.

There is another way. A lot of your friends / family or maybe even yourself may have a Sky Remote lying about not doing anything.or you can buy them from Argos cheap enough.
Please follow the steps below and you will be able to tune your Sky remote To operate you TV

with the sky remote then.

Press TV
RED + SELECT ( hold this down until it flashes twice)
TV
0060

Try the volume if this works then press SELECT to save this to the remote. If not then press TV again then check the volume repeart this step until the volume works then Press SELECT to save the code to your remote.

Hope this helps you out and saves you some money buying an expensive replacement.

Thanks

Samsung 32 inch remote control problem

I had a similar problem. Take the batteries out of the remote, press down on the number 5 for about two minutes the put the batteries back in. This worked for me.
(I got this tip from a telesales advisor. I was close to buying a replacement remote but this tip worked. Hope it does for you. I'm not sure on the science part of it but it basically resets the remote. Good luck)

Remote control

I had the same problem.  The problem is strange and seems to be with the receiver in the TV and not the remote control.  The reason I say this is that when this first happened my Samsung brand DVD could actually control the TV.  This then also failed, but still works fine with the DVD player.
Anyway there is an even more bizarre fix to all this......
- Remove the batteries from your TV remote. - Press and hold the red (ON/OFF) button for at least 1 min. - Replace the batteries and hey presto!!
I know seems far fetched but I found it on the Samsung website and it does work.
