Re: Fatal Alert when doing hot sync on palm tungsten e2
You gotta do a hard reset. i had the same problem. go to the palmone website and look up how. make sure you back your stuff up in case you can't get things back. once you perform the hard reset the error should go away.

Try going to the Palm home page (www.palm.com) and reinstalling the desktop software. Once you have it reinstalled then do a hotsync. I had the same problem and this worked for me. Hopefully it will clear the problem. Best wishes.
you may want to run through a few troubleshooting tricks first try pulling out any extra USB type items that you remove and replace frequently (like a flash drive) and restart your computer after its done booting up you can try hotsyncing again. Make sure what you wanted to put on your PDA is still in the Hotsync manager box. A PDA not wanting to hotsync is a very general statement. It is an indicator for many different problems. -You may need a new hotsync cable -try a different usb port on your computer -you could open the PDA up and check if all the contacts are clean and connected (Warranty void alert) -Try re-installing the PAlm desktop software -If nothing else works put whatever application you're trying to hotsync onto a SD card and copy it from the card and onto the PDA
Tungsten Es are excellent PDAs and it doesn't have too many problems besides being too "basic". A problem like not hot syncing probably isn't an indicator of something really bad unless you've dropped it too many times. If all else fails you may need to pick up a different PDA
anytime you get fatal alerts you have to do more than just push the reset button. You will have to do a soft reset or possibly a hard reset,(usually the soft reset works) Google it and you will find it is quite simple to do
this error can only happen when you previously have another HH
hotsynced to the same username you are using right now.
Do a hotsync.
Hard reset e2
hotsync to a new username
export-import data if you are using PDS for your PIM
reinstall all 3rd party software.
