I have an LG 60pyd tv, that I hooked up to the KS4192. When I have a dvd in, the sound is awesome and sounds like I am in a theater...as it should. Although, when I have just the tv on, the sound does not go above, about 80...my tv by itself goes louder. How do I get the same sound like playing a dvd, when watching just tv?
It sounds like you have the red, white rca cables hooked from the back of the tv to the red, white input on the stereo or the same connection from you hd sat box or hd cablebox. In order to get the same sound quality from tv service as you do on dvd is to run a fiber optic cable or digital coax audio cable from you hd sat box or hd cablebox to your stereo which means no red, white rca cables at all, take them out. Also once you do that you must be on a hd channel to get equal sound quality of a dvd movie. I know on some hd cable or hd sat boxes you have to go in and set them up to dolby digital as well after you hook it up the way I was explaining. Try this and I hope this is helpful.

So how do you have your tv sound hooked to stereo system? Also do you have hd cable or hd sat box in your setup? If you do then you need to run a fiber optic cable from either your hd cable box or hd satellite box to your stereo depending which service you have for tv. You don't need red and white audio cables if you have hd service through either provider. I looked up the specs online for your system and it shows that you have a fiber optic in and a digital coax in on the back of your stereo. Either of those connections would give you the same sound quality of a dvd movie as long as you are watching hd programming.
One more comment I forgot to add on to my last reply is that your volume should be done on your stereo not on your tv. Just wanted to make that clear cause some people try to turn volume up using tv volume bar and that actually would turn up stereo sound but that is a analog method which isn't the best quality based on your current system. How loud does your stereo get on dvd is it louder than 80?

When you use SIMPLINK function, you have to
connect to the OPTICAL IN 1 jack to enjoy TV
sound to your speaker system.
Basically you need to have the Audio go from TV to receiver and setup receiver to that Input to output surround sound to all speakers.
If you have a cable box or satellite receiver, hook that output into the receivers input and that should work.
My setup is DirectTv HDMI output goes into the LG Home Theater HDMI Input 1, and LG goes HDMI output into the TV HDMI input 1.
so to watch DirectTV, I switch LG Home theater to HDMI Input 1. and TV is on HDMI input 1 (to view LG HDMI output from DriectTV, Blu-Ray, Vudu, etc.)

I think I miswrote my problem. When I have the dvd in and playing in the home theater system, I get great sound. When I try to watch regular tv,using the home theater system sound, I do not get the same sound and I cannot get the sound up any higher than 80 on the home theater system. My hd tv setup manual book says to hookup blue, green, and red wires to the componet line 1, and then the red and white to the audio componet line 1.
Problem fixed, thanks to the master...masers1004. Thank you so very much.
