Must have been a connection problem, took apart moved stuff around, and it hasen't acted up since Nov. of 2006....Thanyou for all the help,It's sure ly not the picture tube.Come's in great, color and brightness, still haven't found the bad connection but,Like they say,if it isn't broke don't fix it.ThankyouMust have been a connection problem, took apart moved stuff around, and it hasen't acted up since Nov. of 2006....Thanyou for all the help,It's sure ly not the picture tube.Come's in great, color and brightness, still haven't found the bad connection but,Like they say,if it isn't broke don't fix it.Thankyou

Re:
It certainly sounds like a drive problem in the set. It could be a bad connection on the CRT socket, a componet on the CRT driver board, a bad drive transistor, a connection between the CRT driver board and the RGB /video jungle IC, or the RGB/video jungle IC itself. If you know how to solder and or have some sort of solid state repair experience, you should be able to find this problem by simply probing around with a wooden or plastic tool tilll the problem arises. If you have no experience, there is no easy quick fix. You should find a local repair person to assist you with this repair. good luck

I had this exact problem on my TV, everything said it was the power board. It wasnt, luckily i was able to return that board. It was the YSUS board.
I should have done this this first but this is how i verified the old power board was good. Unplug TV, take the cover off and disconnect the wire harness going to the YSUS, plug TV in and turn on. If led stay blue its the YSUS.
It could be that the picture tubes have gone down on emission, there is a prcedure that can be tried to bring up the overall brightness but it is just possible that you will loose some picture quality. If it's a 1994 projo tv i am thinking of the three crt system, a gray scale alignment would probably correct the dark condition in your picture, again depending on how far gone is the emission in your picture tubes, if your projo tv is the dlp system, the bad news is that you could be needing some light engine repair. The color adjustment is possible with the availability of a service manual or in the case of the dlp system, light engine repairs or replacement are available from some on line stores.
This is very typical of a Zenith set.Your picture tube will have to be replaced. One of your 3 primary colors (red, green,&blue) have turned off leaving you with the color of the dominant color.I would heave it.
is the red gone on all inputs? do you have the tv hooked up, to a sat box, cable box via component video (Red, blue, green connections)? if so check the red cable on both ends.
It's a Zenith remote, MBR 3440 is the model #, 124-202-01 is the part #. To program, press and hold PRG button until red light stays on, press TV,AUX etc, enter 3 digit code (www.xdiv.com) press Enter.
