I change the boot setting to DVD to reinstall off of a back up cd and now I can not get the system to go back to the regular bootup.
Change the boot startup order back to the hard drive as the first boot device in the BIOS. If you still have this problem then -
Go to this WEB site to fix Bootmgr is missing problem.

The fact that you have an error of missing file whit the restore DVD indicate that the problem could be hardware. Especially if you already did a restore whit the same DVD.
I would suggest that you have a faulty memory issue (RAM), you can run a memory diagnostic whit memtest86 http://www.memtest86.com/ download the bootable cd and run it if you see RED readings your memory is defective if not let it run for a couple of loops to make sure.
I'm pretty shure you will see red results, if so take it to your local computer specialist to get it replace or order yourself some.

Means pre-installion is missing. Which means yoou either have to Reinstall a fresh copy of your windows or your can reinstall your windows by just repairing the files. Its always good to make a recovery disk after every install. If you haven't tried it already restart your pc press f8 as the scene pops up and go to Last good configuration.

You can't just change it from pio to udma. Go to Control Panel, System,Hardware,Device Manager, then expand IDE ATA/ATAPI, then right click on Primary IDE and select uninstall. Do the same for secondary IDE. Then just reboot your system, and it will autodetect all IDE devices. After that when you check, you should not have any devices in PIO, and your burner should work correctly. If not, stick it in a hyperbaric chamber for 2 days and see if that helps. __________________
