We're having problems with 4 phones. When we talk to callers on the speakerphone they can hear us, but we cannot hear them. It doesn't seem to be a volume issue. Is there another setting we should look at? It seems odd that 4 would be broken in the same way.
Try pressing the Feature button and dialing the digit 1. This will turn the microphone on and the MIC lite should turn red. Don't lift the handset or press Speaker, just press Feature 1. This will also turn the MIC off if you want it disabled again.

No, that is not due to battery. Your mouthpiece or receiver's earpiece might be bad. To make sure, please record something and try playing it. If you can hear what you recorded, your mouthpiece is fully functional. Now test whether the receiver earpiece is not working. Tell the receiver to set his phone is speakerphone mode. If he can hear what you say in speakerphone mode, then the receiver's earpiece is not fully functional.
Hope this helps.
Press MENU button, scroll to Talk Caller ID by pressing up or down arrow keys, then press Select. Choose off or on by pressing the up or down arrow keys, press Save then press OFF to end
Talking Caller ID is covered on page 14 of the manual. The following link is for a download of the manual in pdf format.
your cell phone probably has an internal speaker for you to hold the phone up to your ear and talk and an external speaker that is used for the ringtone and for you to use the talk on speakerphone option. You can try to use the speakerphone to speakerphone and see if you can hear your callers.
If you phone's internal speaker is not working, the phone needs to be repaired or replaced.
I had the exact same problem on 2 different phones before this one. No one at Sprint could figure it out either. It's a problem on the Pixi, and the Pre where the phone thinks it has headphones inserted into the jack, when there aren't, but it disables the earpiece. To Fix: Take a normal jack, dab alcohol onto the tip then insert it into the headphone jack and remove a few times. This cleans out the jack and should solve the problem! Worked for me first try! I don't have the answer but have the same problem. Uniden tech support had me disconnect power, etc. to no avail. Next solution was "replace the unit". I'm looking for a two-line phone with no answering device - use voice mail. Any ideas?
You have to clear the memory to solve this problem. 1. Press and hold *68 2. Remove the power for 10 seconds 3. RePlug the power and release *68 4 Press the 'Clear Memory' soft key that appears on the screen.
