New door sensor im afraid, unless the machine senses that the door is properly shut none of your wash or spin cycles will start.Sensor located inside washer casing , where lock pin on door handle enters machine. It may just be loose, try tightening the two screws either side of lock keep.If it needs replacing you will need to UNPLUG washer ,remove lid and slide your arm down inside front of washer to access.Good luck.

Hi everyone My electrolux washing machine WEF12832 will not release the door I have tried putting a cord around the outside of the door doesn't work is there another way to do this please Thanks

Make sure the machine is empty first, as if there is water in there, it will be hydraulically locked and will not open. Remove the filter if fitted, or lower the waste hose on to the floor. As a last resort, lower the machine onto its BACK ONLY - never the side or you will ruin the electronics!!! If it looks like water is getting onto any circuit boards, stop immediately, this is a last resort trick only. When empty, the string around the door catch WILL work but its a bit fiddly. Failing that, turn off power, remove lid, and you can get to the back of the catch with a small screwdriver to release the lever - but will probably break the catch which are flimsy plastic. Some models have an emergency door release - look for a circular button directly below the door catch which you need to turn with a broad screwdriver. Not all have this though - AEG's do - part of electrolux group. Check the filter first, if fitted!!!

How do i open the door

You don't give the reason for your question.

The door catch generally has an electric lock to prevent the door being opened during a cycle. When the machine has finished it's programme or sometimes is switched off (check in the instruction manual) the lock remains engaged for about a minute and then the door will open.

If the door catch or lock develops a fault the machine top will have to be removed and the lock released manually.

The door on my Hotpoint Aquarius Dryer CTD00 pops open during cycle is it the door catch that's worn?

If the door latches correctly at the time of wash then it is possible that there is a false trigger to release the door, if so you need to check on the lock.

I cannot get my washer to release so i can open it up and switch clothes over.. It has finished its cycle i even made it do another cycle to try and get it to release but it wont.. any suggestions? Kat

There are many reasons why the door may be jammed shut -

1. The water hasn't pumped out properly and the washing machine has a pneumatic door safety lock (a rubber hose connected to the door interlock and connected to a pressure chamber bottle on the tub - water forces air up this tube and locks the door)
2. Washing machine won't empty water
3. The water has pumped out properly, but a blockage of gunge inside the pressure chamber bottle is trapping the air that's operating the door lock (if a pneumatic lock is fitted - not many have these days due to cost cutting)
4. Door interlock jammed
5. Door catch, handle, or mechanism broken
Try running Just the rinse spin cycle again,

Hi, i have an electrolux eco 7kg froat loader that my son tried to open mid cycle, now the door won't open when the end of the cycle happens and the door clicks (with an orange light) to indicate that the...

Hi, the clever step is to power the machine off at the mains for 10 minutes. Depriving it of power MAY release the interlock door switch even if the cycle didnt.

Final attempt to get to it... Turn off power, unplug at the mains. drag the machine out so you can see the back. Remove the 2 screws that hold the top on, pull back or tap the top forward (depending on the model) to unclip it. Peer inside. You will see the door switch inside the chassis exactly in line with the door handle on the outside. See if you manually make the mechanism release, or if you have a stubby philips screwdriver, you can probably unscrew the switch completely.

If you trust yourself NEVER to open the door in the middle of a cycle, the machine will of course function without a switch. Just so long as you recognise that you will flood the place if you do open it with water in. Also if you put your hand inside during a wash (Or worse still a spin) the power of the motor combined with the weight of the wet washing will rip the arm clean off a fully grown man, so if you doubt yourself or you have kids (or kids may visit) don't leave it like this.

Opened lid during wash cycle. Machine stopped but later restarted. The same thing happened two weeks later, but the touchpad has no function. It is getting electrical power to the dishwasher. Thoughts?

Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method.

Washer won't spin. Belt is slipping. Tub is stuck.

The belt sounds worn out since its slipping. Change it out. Its cheap fix.

The drum brake does just what is sounds like. brakes the drum. For instance when u open the lid during a cycle and everything stops thats the drum engaging and stops the movement of teh drum. If the brake is malfunctioning two things will happen, you open the lid (assuming the safety switch is still good) or the drum will not spin at all.

Whirlpool Washing Machine Quitting during rinse cycle

I would say that based on your problem description that the lid /door switch has a loose or faulty contact .. If you open and close it a few times..it starts to spin and yet when you open it.. it doesn't always stop the spinning.. It is either the switch or the actuator that bumps that switch.. That is where I would begin diagnosing the problem... Hope that helps..
