Panasonic DMR-ES30VS DVD Recorder / VCR Combo Troubleshooting
The panasonic player VCR/DVD combo plays Tape/VHS or DVD fine for 30 to 45 fine but then automatically powers off. When I try to power on, it automatically plays DVD when the output is VHS. It plays for another 5 mins and powers off automatically. IT doesn't power on. I will have to leave it alone and play the next day and the same problem again.
What should I do.
Thanks
Venkata
This is actually an easy fix what you do is you take off lid the VCR cleaning everything with a Q-tip and a little alcohol all the gears accept the head with the head you use a cloth 4 eyeglass wear that's for anti reflective lenses and a little alcohol this will not scratch your head on the VCR wipe out all dust and fuzz too around the vent in back.
Then next you take.and use white grease and grease everything that has a track area being careful not to touch heads . You even do that tracks on the side of the VCR the ones that go in to the machine
Then towards the front of machine you will see two round gears lift those up slightly and check to see if white tape is in tracks if not push it slightly with a cuetip.
Then put machine back together as tape won't work with top of machine off
Plug in and hook.up IT should work now.
Good luck
Do this before you replace a ton if part

This is a good sign that the power supply is having a problem. In standby or even on without a tape or disc, the current draw is low. Once a disc or tape is inserted there is a higher demand on the power supply. This is usually some defective capacitors that are easily replaced. Realize that there are other possibilities as well, but the power supply is the most common. The parts cost is in the $15 range.
This is happening because your DVD is NOT all region, you need to change the Code.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code - www.dvdexploder.com/ - www.dvdexploder.com/multihacks.htm www.allformp3.com/dvd-copy.../dvd-region-code-free.htm - www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/ - Ok check those links out they will help you sort it.
Try a different brand of blank dvd+r or -r. you will find that your dvd machine is fussy on what discs it plays. More exspensive dvd players are fussy with what dvd discs you put in, as cheaper dvd players would virtualy play most types of dvds.
I have a dmr-ez25eb DVD recorder and it has stopped Recording and playing back , the screen on the TV says that its a none recordable disc but I have been useing them from the time I purchased the DVD
Dirty heads or the recording was from a different brand VCR and the Panasonic cant get the right tracking. Try manual tracking just a little in either direction to you get the right one.
either extremely dirty heads or there is a tv/vcr button that needs to be toggled. Most have auto tracking, old ones have a knob or 2 buttons under a panel somewhere for tracking.
