Unit scrolls "Goodbye!" and shuts off and on spontaneously

This unit was working fine, then one day it scrolled across "Goodbye" and shut off for a while, blank display. It appeared not to be getting any power, then it turned back on again. Now when it happens it says "goodbye" and then turns right back on again. I thought maybe it was a loose connection, but why would the unit be scrolling "Goodbye" if it was a loose wire? I have cleaned the contacts and taken some canned air to the front of the unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is receiving a signal to shutdown and restart. This sounds like the power on selector may be dirty or damaged. It may require disassembly to get to the switch or contact pad.

If all else fails, I recommend contacting a local car audio professional, or you may contact Clarion customer support directly by clicking here:

SOURCE: NO SOUND FROM CLARION XMD3

I have a XMD3 with Sirius on a Larson boat. Had same problem - everything seemed to be fine on unit (everything lit up and CD showed different tracks and time changing), but no sound. I suspected a ground problem and checked wires I could see. Found one speaker wire that had been frayed due to faulty installation. As soon as I wiggled that wire I got sound on all speakers. Not sure why one faulty speaker would kill all sound, but it did for me.

I have a samsung home theater system HT-X70. After 10 to 15 minutes the word protection scrolls across the screen then goodbye and finally the unit shuts itself off.

ther is dc voltage applying your speakers by amplifire itself and turn on speaker protection circuit itself.
it can be happens because
1.loose connection in amplifire board
2.faulty output section of amplifire
3.short circuit of speakers
4.error detecting circuit faulty.
if youcan open the cover and clean the circuit for dust and resolder the circuit with 30 W soldering iron cairfully.if you want the more asistence please come again

Unit shuts itself off after 10 -15 minutes

Protect mode will kick in whenever a fault is detected.

You get the unit not powering up, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that is the protection switch that keeps shutting down the unit.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Tuner error

Use a multimeter to check for connectivity to the sirius. Where did you mount the antenna? Maybe its a reception problem? Sounds like the head unit is going bad. Try shutting it down, and take the pace plate off, let it reboot and see if it works. Check to see if the Tuner is unplugged.
