It seems the unit has a thermal overload issue. It could just be an adjustment, or a defective part is going bad. Also try and check all the speaker wireing for pinches or shorts. Also have the speakers checked as maybe one is going bad and overloading the output stage. If you do all these things and it is still shutting down then you have no choice then to have it tested on a bench at a repair shop or replacing it. Good Luck PS Please dont forget to rate this thread.

S-protection

This means that there is a short detected on one of the amp outputs. Try disconnecting the speakers from the back of the unit and power on. If fault still persists then likely you have a bad output ic or FET (transistor). If fault goes away after removing speakers then plug them in one by one to see which is the culprit.

Protection error in denon avr-3000

Hi,

Do you know what caused the protection shut down in the first place? Did you short your speaker wires even briefly?

You could try to Unplug the Unit for Few Minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it back ON.Usually that would fix the issue.

If you are going into protect mode with no speaker attached,chances are that your output Ic is in need of replacement .This is the most likely cause of a protection error that you are experiencing.I am having a bit of difficulty in locating specific part numbers but feel confident that replacing outputs will remedy your concern.For further info and parts or authorized service locations in your area I suggest to contact mfg at www.usa.denon.com/ .Click on support or call(201)762-6500.I believe that they have a flat rate service and will give you an estimate.

Still, on the remote possibility that it is just a glitch caused by momentary power interruption or fluctuation, try to re-initialize the microprocessor, a hard reset (not unless this is what you were referring to as rebooted). The reset should force the AVR-3300 to revert back to factory defaults removing glitches, errors in settings & configurations, memory & presets as well as user preferences.

* turn OFF the unit using the POWER button;
* press and hold both SPEAKER A and SPEAKER B;
* without releasing the 2 buttons, press the POWER button;
* release the 2 buttons only when the display starts to flash;
* in the event of no display flashing, repeat the process.

Should the above be not corrective, then it would be a hardware fault and not just a glitch.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hoe i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My HT-TX75 DVD flashes a message

First thing to do is disconnect all your speakers at the back of the receiver, then turn it back on. If it does not go into protection, post a comment and I can walk you thru troubleshooting. If it still goes into protection, your unit needs to be serviced. Hope this helps

Samsung dvd/disc protection

Try a hard reset: unplug from power source, remove all cabling and wait for 5 minutes before recabling.

If that fails, it is a logic board error, in which case you are probably better off buying a new device..

Help

Hi,

Take every single cable out of the unit, now power on the unit.

If the power protection still shows then there is an internal fault, usually a short or a component defect.

If it powers on ok, switch off and insert 1 speaker at a time and power on the unit until the protection mode comes on again, the last speaker you have put in has overloaded it for some reason, also as you are trying each speaker use the volume and bass controls to see if there is an internal overload.

Thats as much as I can offer you until you narrow the fault down to the unit or one of the speakers.

Cheers

Kenwood RD-VH7 cuts out

Hi all, I just had same problem on my RD-VH7, in fact i have two units, one works perfectly, any trouble, but other had same problem. Click and stop playing speakers. Really it's a "protection" of the system that overheat a lot. I need to comment that i repair it by myself and i recomend a little of knowledge about how desamble and resamble the unit, due to it's very compressed. The solutions is so easy. Simply the speakers terminals inside need be to re-weld them to the main board. Due to the overheating this make the welds maje a "fake contact" (sorry about my english) and the protection circuit activate this desconnection. I made this welding perfectly only on this terminals and now it works perfectly. The good news are that it's not an circuit problem. Hope this info can help all guys. Ciao [email protected]
