Question about Jensen TS2050J 20" TV
Try pressing the disply button and hold for three to 4 seconds. This is a quick way of locking all functions also .. Once the set is working press display and hold to relock it or to unlock it. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.

Just to verify, I have an Advent Q1435A television. my 2 year old started pushing buttons on the remote, and it went into lock mode, just as you described. I held down the display button on the remote, and after 5 seconds it came back to normal operation.

I do not know this particular TV, but some equipment locks up. In other words it will not do anything at all no matter what buttons you press. I hope techman is correct by pressing the display button for several seconds releases the lock. If this does not work, then usually it works if you unplug the TV, and leave it off for about an hour. My DVD recorder does this sometimes due to the internal computer, I only wait half a minute and plug the power in again, and switch on.
