Will fill with water but during rinse and spins it won't drain.

No matter what wash the machine is performing, it will not drain the water. The cycles will complete on the dial and agitation will occur but the pump simply makes a humming sound and will not drain. In addition it appears as final spins do not actually spin which I assume is because there is still water in the drum. Machine type is actually FWT449GFS1. Fridgidare Gallery

I actually have 2 of these machines and both run thru the cycle but stop spinning part way thru the spin cycle leaving soggy clothes

One machine spins for longer than the other but both don't do too good of a job

The control panel lights up properly and the locking mechanism works but it won't actually start to run water. It has water at bottom of drum as if it didn't full complete last wash cycle

The dial does not progress and there is a buzzing sound. I can turn it to final spin and it goes.

I fixed it on my own. By taking off the suction hose and spinning the fan inside it apparently dislodged something and is working now. Hopefully the problem won't come back, I was unable to find the foreign object.

Similar problem, had I. In my case, the fins on the impeller in the drain pump had worn down to the point that it no longer pumped water. It had obviously had trouble for a long time, but finally got to the point where it couldn't even pump below the drum. Probably it had pumped too much sand, kitty litter, coins, etc. over the years. I replaced the pump, and heard a sound I realized I hadn't heard for several years: the pump sucking air when draining.

I think the clothes are going to get cleaner now without all of that residual dirty water.

I did collect a good pile of coins out of the trap, but not enough to pay for the pump, unfortunately. Kind of a bummer to pay $75+shipping for a replacement pump, when all that was wrong was an impeller that's probably worth $4.

My machine wouldn't spin propely and it turned out that the problem was that the water was not draining fast enough. I found several coins in the drain boot and some nickels clogging the artery right before the pump. See http://www.applianceaid.com/frigidaire_frontload_washer3.html for a description as to how to get at the pump. To reassemble, I used a vice grip to hold the clamps open to make it easy to get the hoses on the tubes.

Washing Machines will not rinse or spin

If the water won't drain out of your washing machine, either something is stuck in the drain hose or pump, or the pump is broken. Both fixes are simple if you're even just a little bit handy with tools. We're showing the repair on a Maytag washing machine.
What is wrong with a washer that does not spin?
If your washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. (Note: Direct-drivewashing machines do not have belts.) To diagnose the problem, do the following: 1Check the washing machine's spin cycle.

What causes a washing machine not to drain and spin?
If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.

Beko WMP652W washing machine will start cycle but get stuck at end of wash, doesnt go onto rinse or spin any help please?

see the next steps and use the common sense: God bless you
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

My maytag mtw5600tq1 washer won't hold water. Its

Hi,
Its sounds like you have a siphon going on, this happens when the drain hose it too low during fill and as the water enters the unit it exits through the drain hose. To stop this the drain hose needs to be higher than the tub itself, meaning: raise the drain hose behind the washer to about control panel area. This will or should stop the siphon effect and allow the water to remain in the tub. If the drain hose is low this siphon will start again.
I hope this helps

This is likely a pressure switch issue.

Rinse water fills the washing machine when the spin cycle starts

Check your outlet filter, most likely it is blocked, preventing the water from draining out. Chk your pump too. Before this disconnect from the wall socket; and also check the pipe coming from the tub to the filter. Siphon out the excess water from inside the machine before you open the pipes.
