The power indicator on our 53UDX10B does not turn off when turning off the TV. The picture is no longer displayed, though. There used to be a distinctive noise (not exactly a click, but something similar) when the TV was powered on, but that doesn't happen anymore.
I tried unplugging the TV for a minute or so. Immediately on plugging it in, the power indicator was on, but no picture.
The TV appears to be working correctly, but having the power light on worries me that this might be the start of some worse problem. Any ideas?
This happened to me once and it was still under warranty. The warranty people came in and replaced a relay which seemed to fix the problem. Like yours mine seemed to work just fine when watching TV but I was worried that the power on all the time was putting undue wear on the components so that made me uneasy. Sorry I can't give you any more specifics.

The flashing green light is likely indicative of a self-test failure, indicating the TV has detected some sort of internal fault. With no picture or sound, one strong suspect is the power supply. Flat-panel TV's have an internal DC power supply that converts the inbound AC current, and when these fail, or are unable to supply a minimum level of power to the set, it can behave as you describe, providing only enough power for the green light to illuminate.
you have a weak capacitor, I would consult further as this is just going to get worse. If you are to take the back of your tv off, and look for a swollen capacitor and replace it with the correct replacement. You will no longer have this issue. Though I have seen them last forever like that too.
a tv has two components, firstly a power supply produces high voltage to trigger a line transformer, in turn a transformer produces smaller voltages. firstly check if the ht is constantly been produced from a supply, if this is there than go to a line transformer, and check voltages at the output.
Good Day, boattech1;
To my understanding the Model 53UDX10B is a rear projection, that uses no fans. I think maybe your LAMP may be getting weak.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
I think this is your problem The convergence board needed to be "rebuilt" (lots of cracked solder) The ICs were shot as were several resistors. this is how to fix it. http://home.earthlink.net/~oleg.filippov/ConvergenceFix.htm
You're right. It's not only a led problem. Efective. the tv doesn't shutt off due to defective relay S901 in primary power supply. It's a 5 volts ordinary relay, replace it and it'll be fine.
