The JER323 from Jensen seems to be made to work for a TV and or a VCR or DVD and or a satellite. I have it working for all three of these in a little system. My DVD is actually a CiTECH DVD/VCR combo. The following procedure worked for me. Turn off all the components of your system. Then, manually turn on the device you want to set up. Then, simultaneously hold down the orange on/off button at the very top of the Jensen JER323 remote control and hold the button for the device you want to program to work with the remote control (one of the three device buttons just below the orange on/off button. Simultaneously hold these two buttons down until the orange on/off button stops flashing and stays lit. In my limited experience, this is usually just a couple of seconds. The next step requires patience. You now just keep hitting the orange on /off button about every 3 or 4 seconds until the device turns off. This can take a couple of minutes. I presume you are trying each code until you hit one that works. This is a bit boring and you may find yourself daydreaming and may miss teh fact that the device has turned off. So you have to pay attention. You just repeat the process for each device you want to program. It worked well for my Bell Express Vu satellite, Phillips TV and CiTECH DVD/VCR combo.

Turn on the tv, hold down the tv button and the on/off button at the same time until the on/off stays lit, the press on/off every 4 seconds until tv turns off, when it does, press stop button to remember the code. However, I am experiencing difficulty with this now as it won't find a code for my tv, which is not on the supplied code list. It has found it before, and stopped working so I tried it again, now it can't find it. If you do get a found code, press tv button an info button together until th on/off stays lit, start ith 1 key, then press and release each nmber until the on/off blinks, record that number, and start again until you have 4 numbers. This is the code for your tv.

Find the TV code for
your TV in the list from the Platinum Remote Control User's Guide (See
References). For example, if you have a Kenwood TV, the three possible codes to
try are 506, 573 and 712.
Press the "TV"
button on the remote. Hold down the button until the "Sat,"
"VCR" and "Aux" buttons light up. Release the
"TV" button and it will be flashing.
Enter the first code
using the keypad. If you want the remote to control all functions on the TV,
enter the code and press the # key. The "TV" button will flash three
times.
Press the power button
to turn off the TV and turn it back on again. If the code was correct, the TV
will turn off and on. If the TV doesn't power down or back on, follow Step 6.
Try the next code from
the list. Follow Steps 2 through 4 using each code until one turns off the TV.
2. Programming Without Codes
Press the "TV"
button on the remote. Hold down the button until the "Sat,"
"VCR" and "Aux" buttons light up. Release the
"TV" button and it will be flashing.
Press and release the
"Power" button on the remote.
Press the arrow up key
and stop. If the TV doesn't turn off, press the arrow up key again. Continue
pressing the arrow up key until the TV turns off. Do not go fast when moving
through the codes or you could miss the correct code. Press the arrow key and
wait at least 20 seconds to see if the code works before pressing the arrow key
again.
Press
the # key on the remote when the TV turns off to lock in the code.
