Sansa M200 Series When connecting the Sansa m200 to the computer, should I have the USB setting on MTP or MSC? Answer ID: 326 Created: 11/04/2005 Updated: 11/04/2005 For Products: MP3 -> All Sansa M200 Series Category(s): Audio Player Answer You should have it set to MTP when using it with any of the 3 supported subscription music servies. Otherwise, you should have it set to MSC, which is the normal USB mode for storage devices. MTP mode will only work on Windows XP or Windows 2000 with SP4 installed. How helpful was this answer?

Have you tried removing the battery? Or maybe your battery is low. As well, if your mp3 player isn't turned on when you plug it in, that seems to affect if the computer recognizes it.

Hi,

Please follow the below steps and check if that resolves the issue:

  1. Press down on and hold the "Power" button on your Philips GoGear MP3 player.
  2. Press down on and hold the "Volume Up" button on your Philips GoGear MP3 player. Continue to hold both of these buttons down for three consecutive seconds. The MP3 player will turn itself off.
  3. Press and hold "Power" until your Philips GoGear MP3 player turns itself back on. Your GoGear will no longer be frozen and you can use it as normal.
If you require further assistance then please revert back.

If the player allows you to add music on it via USB as a Removable Disk, then copy all the music off the player onto your computer and then format the MP3 player by right clicking it in "My Computer" and going to "Format...". Start it up without music and see how it goes, if it doesn't turn itself off, fill it with a little bit of music, then a little more until you either put your music back on, or until it screws up again. Good luck!
