Question about Geovision GV-800-16 Video Capture

4 Answers

Geovision install I am trying to install the software for the geovision card and it just won't install. When I try to install the driver, or anything else, I get an "Install fail" message. Obviously nothing works without the driver. I have tried from the cd and the web site with the same result. I have tried with the card installed and the card out. Same result. Geovision tech service is less than helpful. I tried moving the card to a different card slot. Same result. I have been told that the pc has to have a pentium 4 processor and an intel mother board. It does. Anybody got a thought?

Please make sure that your motherboard does not have a VIA chipset. Can you post the exact specs of your machine. Also how old is the card, and what version of software are you installing (it says the version on the CD)?

Geovision GV600 card, moved to new computer, software can't read registry

I would try uninstalling any bloat ware that came with the PC. Then use C Cleaner to clean registry. Remove or turn off any antivirus. I prefer to remove before installing the software. You may also simply want to reinstall a clean copy of plain W7 so that you don't leave any bloatware lingering. Also try combofix to clean the computer.

Geting error cant find pro key

try uninstalling software and re-installing also it could be a compatibility issue with the motherboard. SIS, and VIA chipsets are not supported by GeoVision.
I have found that ASUS mainboards work very well with Geovision.

Gv-800

This problem could be because of the GV card version not compitable with GV main systems software you install please check the hardware version of the GV card and compare for compatibility. East way out downgrade to lower version of software. for example if you have version 8.1 install then install version 7.0 or something like that.

"Lost Video" error

Which version of the card are you using, BNC or D type?

Remember: GV-800 is currently not compatible with VIA series and ATI series chipset motherboards.

I know Dell uses mostly Intel chipset, but just in case, check with your motherboard to see if you don't have either ATI or VIA; specially since you already have the nVidia.

Try going to the BIOS on your PC and set the 'Primary Display' to PCI instead of the built-in chip.
