recently an old goodmans standard 14 inch tv has got problem on the sound output. unfortunately i am not sure about the model but it has remute control and mono sound output. indeed the tv had some problem before that was by tunning the sound vey up the noise would be high on the output. recently regardless the high noise it was tune to the highest possible but suddenly the sound was just gone. yet you can hear a very low sound by putting your ear on the amplifier! even at the highest possible sound tunner. i guess some thing should be replace but have no electronic map of the design board (sound chip) could you let me know what probably shoud be replace and how can i find the pice.
thanks in advance
ps. i have checked the amplifier and it works coorectly so the problem is in tv.

Re: TV sound problem
It sounds to me that the tuner in the TV has drifted off tune.
Your problem may be solved if you can bring up on the screen the channel bar which goes from 22 to 69, then `scan for channels'. saving the good ones and passing over the poor ones. Also selecting the program number before you save each channel.
I do not think anything is wrong with the sound circuit.

The important information is the output voltage (12 volts DC) and current (5 amps). You need an adapter with those ratings and a plug with the proper size and polarity to fit the TV. If necessary, you can salvage the output cord from the bad adapter and splice it onto a replacement if you can't find one with the right plug. You need to be careful to get the polarity right or you can damage the TV. Most sets have the center pin positive, but you want to check to be sure. The set usually is marked with the information, and it may also be on the old adapter.
You may be able to find an exact replacement adapter by searching for your specific TV brand and model number and "replacement power adapter". Many adapters are available through eBay sellers. Otherwise just look for a 12-volt 5-amp adapter and change the output cord as described if necessary.
Will the TV go to channel 3? if not you need to reporogram the TV to sence channel 3 or go into the setup and undelete channel 3. Channel 3 is the channel your digital box is set to boradcast to the tv itself.
in your remote control there will be one button calles ASM or auto search mode you press it (or auto) tv will tune one by one channel automatically & it will stop.
now from prog. button you can up &down channals.
from vol +&- vol up& down.
Oh come on man the sets tired!!!LOL no really you got plenty of use out of this bugger. Your problem sounds like something opened in the power supply and since the sets all solid state theres no user serviceable parts inside them. If you really wanted to put cash into a 10 year old set for an estimate/? i would not . But if you like the set go for it. Good luck
