SOURCE: Toshiba laptop won't wake up from stand by or hibernate

I had the same problem on my Toshiba Satellite U305, struggling with it for the past 4 months and having to use Shutdown each time I was done using it. Very frustrating! Toshiba worked with me several weeks, telling me to re-install Vista and all the fixes, which took a lot of work backing up etc and this did not fix the problem. Today they finaly told me to try entering this special command and it fixed my problem. Maybe it will fix yours too.

Create a shortcut on the desktop and to make the shortcut, right click on the desktop, choose Create Shortcut, enter CMD.EXE where it asks you to "Enter the location of the item". This will create an icon on the desktop that looks like a mini-command prompt. Then on the desktop, RIGHT click on the CMD.EXE shortcut/icon you have created and select "Run as administrator". This will open a command prompt window. Here in the black-box with white letter window, enter the command "powercfg -h on" (without the quotes). Reboot and see if the problem is resolved. This fixed my Toshiba Satellite that had this problem.

SOURCE: Toshiba wont turn on, has beeping after i press power

Check the memory modules. Test one at a time to see if any of them is damaged. If you have only one, try a borrowed chip, or test yur modules in a borrowed laptop (it doesn't have to be the same brand/model, only the chips must be the same speed).

SOURCE: toshiba satellite fn key display problem

Just download this :) It will fix your problem. If it doesn't work, just search for Toshiba Value Added Package Vista/XP (that depends on what Operative System you've got) and download for your Operative System.

Looking for wireless on switch on laptop

Right Side, underneath your volume control. If it is switched on and still cant access the internet wireless give this a try.

Use Control Panel's Add or Remove Programs utility to uninstall the Toshiba Hotkey Utility, and then reinstall it.
This program is called E-Key Utility on the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD. It's called Toshiba E-Key Utility for Windows XP on the Toshiba Support website.

Unistalling the Toshiba Hotkey Utility:
  1. Click Start.

  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  4. Select TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility.

  5. Click Change/Remove.

  6. Click OK to confirm that you wish to completely remove the selected application and its features. The InstallShield Wizard will begin the removal process.

  7. Click Finish to exit the InstallShield Wizard.
Re-installing the Toshiba Hotkey Utility using the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD that shipped with the computer:
  1. Insert the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD into the CD/DVD drive and close the tray. The setup program on the DVD should start automatically.

  2. When the Toshiba Recovery and Applications CD window appears, verify that "Install applications and drivers" is the selected install type, and click Next.

  3. Select E-key Utility from the list, and click Install.

  4. When the WinZip Self-Extractor window appears, click OK.

  5. Click Unzip.

  6. Click OK to acknowledge that the files were successfully unzipped.

  7. When the InstallShield window appears, click Next and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

  8. When the installation is complete, click Exit and then OK to close the Toshiba Recovery and Applications CD window.

  9. Remove the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD from the optical drive and close the tray.
Reinstalling the Toshiba Hotkey Utility using the file downloaded from the Toshiba Support website:
  1. Download the Toshiba E-key Utility for Windows XP from the Toshiba Support website, and save it to your computer. See also the bulletin Obtaining downloads and support docs from the Toshiba Support website.

  2. Navigate to where you saved the file and double-click it.

  3. Click Run.

  4. When the WinZip Self-Extractor window appears, click OK.

  5. Click Unzip.

  6. Click OK to acknowledge that the files were successfully unzipped.

  7. When the InstallShield window appears, click Next and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Toshiba Satelite Keyboard

Sounds like your contacts on your keyboard are dirty. Take some compressed air and blow it underneath your keyboard. Give it a good cleaning. See if that solves your problem.

Toshiba Satellite turn ON problem.

Remove the battery and then try to run your laptop direct from the mains supply, if this works it proves your battery is NFG and you need another.
