Problem with panasonic cordless phone and att u-verse phone line

I installed ATT U-verse Dec 2011 and have beeping noises that the person on the other end of the line hears (I don't hear the beeps). After several calls to tech support, one technician said that it had to do with my Panasonic cordless phone. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem?

If you are using a DSL modem to access the internet you have to install a filter on the line to keep the noise from modem out of the phone. If you don't have one, your phone company usually provides them for free.

SOURCE: we just installed ATT-uverse & our incoming calls don't work

I have the same issue with incoming call not displaying (call waiting). Contacted ATT Unverse customer service and was advise this is a technical issue at their end and no resolution before year end. I was not a happy camper to learn this and was not informed up front when service was installed.

SOURCE: my panasonic cordless phone model # KX-TG2258S the

Do you even hear white noise? If not, it sounds like your phone's speakers may be broken, or it has water damage. If your landline is connected to more phones, ask yourself these questions:

Do all of the phones have this problem? If so, it's a problem with your connection, not the speaker.

Is there a volume button anywhere on the phone or the base? Try turning it up.

Do my phones make a "beep" noise when i push the buttons? If not, did they used to? If they don't, then it's likely that the speaker is no longer working properly.

You may need to contact panasonic and see if they will replace it for you.

Hope this helped! Please rate my solution!

SOURCE: My att cordless phone mics

It's not that the handsets have bad mics, the problem is in the base unit. That's what's sending audio into the phone line, and something has gone wrong there. Try unplugging the power from the base and give it a minute, then reconnect the power. This will allow the computer inside to reset and may straighten out the trouble. If it doesn't, you're probably best off replacing the system.

AT&T doesn't say anything on their site about service, just to call their Customer Support and Service Center at 1-800-222-3111 for more information. If your phone is out of warranty, it's probably easier and maybe less expensive to buy new.

Cordless phones

1) unplug all phones
2) plug them back in and check line.
If you still have the issue,!take a corded phone with. Phone jack coed to your box on the outside of the house. Usually gray, unscrew the first box - you'll see modules there - the one with the last four of your phone number is the module we'll use. Follow the directions on the box to open that module - plug your phone into the module. Here's the important thing - if you don't hear static, then the problem is from inside your house. If you call att to come out they will charge you - but that's the whole unplug the phones and centralize your base better. However, if you still hear static in the outside box, it's an att issue and have to come out at no charge.

How do I re-record my voicemail greeting on my DECT 6.0, 1580 - 2

If you're talking about the answering machine greeting in the base unit, detailed instructions are here: http://www.uniden.com/pdf/DECT1580om.pdf

If you're talking about the voicemail system provided by your local telephone company, each will be different, but my ATT UVerse voicemail is controlled at http://www.att.com/uversecentral and then click My Account, My Services, U-verse Voice Home Page. Hopefully ATT doesn't shuffle around the menus by the time you read this. This is correct as of Dec 2010.

Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) light stays on since VoIP

There maybe different MWI options available in the phone's set up menu on the base unit. If so, see if the different options perform differently. Your phones are probably set to "FSK" (frequency shift keying) for MWI but IIRC, U-Verse uses the "Stutter" option. Also, in addition to talking to the installer, call ATT tech support. If the problem is in the signalling they may now have programming options on their end to resolve it.

We just installed ATT-uverse & our incoming calls don't work

I think you just need to turn the CIDCW on through the "Global Menu" The following is from the user's manual for the TRU8885.

Setting CIDCW (Caller ID on Call Waiting)
CIDCW sets the Caller ID on Call Waiting (CIDCW) displays the name and number of
an incoming call while you are on the line. Call Waiting Deluxe (CWDX) allows you
to handle call waiting calls in seven different ways.
1) Enter the Global Setup menu, and then the CIDCW
submenu (see "Entering the Menu" on page 16).
2) Press volume up/down to select CW On/CWD X O n, C W
On/CWD X O ff, or CW O ff/CW DX Off, and then press the
OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.

Panasonic KX-TG9341 (purchased 9/10/08)

I believe the problem is not the handset phone but the telephone line because the phones were working for a brief period again last night. As I said, ATT is supposed to send a repair man out today to check the lines. If the repair man says the problem is not the telephone line, I may contact you again. Thanks/
