Question about Canon PIXMA MP750 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I've recently adquired a Canon MP530 AIO Printer after 20 copies or so, a message saying "Without Ink Error U043 5BK C" appeared, according to the manual, I have no ink on both black (big) and cyan cartridges, which is obviously false. I've removed the cartridges cleaned the head, restarted the printer with no head and still nothing. When inserting the cartridges a red light is activated when each one is properly inserted, this happened when I first used the printer. Now they seem to random on/off and there is some flickering at times but I can't get them all on as it was supose to happen. Thanks in advance for the help.

I had contacted Canon to resolve my problem.
Through the technician I am informed that the printer has to be sent back for service as one of the 4 pins on print-head print has dropped off leaving only 3pins that is why the error code U043 simply occur which is why replacing another new ink cartridge does not resolve the issue.
I have understand from him that:-
I hope the above information will help all the troubled Canon printer users as I notice from previous search on this website, there are other users having problem like ink cartridge is only partial used, but error code appear to check ink cartridge, maybe trying to taking out and putting back, it works sometime and problem occurs again, by replace a new ink cartridge will help as the partial used one would be faulty already, and do call up Canon to report the issue and they will exchange a new ink cartridge for the faulty partial used cartridge.

SOURCE: Canon Pixma ip4200 printer, error 1414
Hello there,
I've gotten in touch with Canon and have something a little different to try. At the very least the error should change. (Sorry, gallows humor). Please read this entire response before taking action.
After the upcoming test procedure, I have included a link and procedure to contact Canon tech support. The assure me they will replace any faulty tanks.
The purpose of this exercise is either rule out ink tanks that are behaving or isolate the one(s) responsible for the 1414. You should write down the results of this test. Please perform the following:
1. Open the printer and remove all ink tanks.
2. Insert a single ink tank in the printer then close the cover.
3. Confirm whether the printer recognizes the installed tank properly. If it does, it will indicate it does not detect the other ink tanks, as they are not currently installed in the printer.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 with another ink tank.
5. If the printer at any time indicates two of the same ink tanks are installed, the cause will be the last tank installed. For example, if you inserted an ink tank earlier, and you later inserted another ink tank, and it said two of the same inks were installed, the cause of the issue is the last ink tank.
Click here for the Canon PIXMA iP4200 support page
Then click on e-mail support.
Fill out the form.
Under description, supply the following info:
Error 1414 Ink tank problem on my Canon PIXMA iP4200
The error won't go away.
I have replaced the <color in question> tank, reseated it, yet the error remains.
You will also need to list what inks are being used in the printer. State the type of ink that is being used and the order that the tanks are installed in the print head.
Provide the exact part number (such as BCI-6C, BCI3eBk, etc.) if possible.
The Canon support rep assured me they will be glad to replace the malfunctioning tank(s) for you at no cost. Please
respond with the results, and specify the ink tank(s) that were not recognized correctly.
They responded quickly, professionally and apologetically. They want to help get this resolved for you.
I hope this helps end the frustration you must be feeling. If you need additional help or clarification, click the ASK button.

If you could take a moment and rate this response, I would appreciate it.

SOURCE: error code: U150 The following ink tank cannon be recognized (Cyan)
U150 ink error fixed!
I too was getting the error for unrecognized ink cartridge. Then the
little green circ board fell out of the end of the ink cartridge and it
hit me that maybe if I put in the little green circ board from the old
ink cartridge of the same color, then maybe the ink cartridge would be
recognized. It worked! So don't throw out an ink cartridge that still
has ink just because of that error and hold onto your empty cartridges
in case you need the little green/gold circ boards.
This works!

Hi jet, I would suggest you update your printer drivers, try this, follow instructions exactly as written:
Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop(watch for the light yellow bar at the top of window viewing pane, click on this and choose – download file - . Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.

Usually answered in minutes!
it's the same problem, this is quite disapointing
Same issue as above - however, I noticed that the printer only detects inks correctly if one of the two black inks are removed.
ditto!
