How to remove built in Range

Probably your built-in has to be removed to gain access to the underside for removal of the motor.

If you're lucky, you might be able to remove the control panel and access the fuse that way. Many over the range ovens are made this way. If not, it could be located inside the cabinet near where the power cord enters.

I) empty the cabinet above the unit.
2) unplug the unit from the outlet in the cabinet
3) locate the two bolts near the front edge in the floor of the cabinet and remove them. the unit will tip down to the range below.
CAUTION SUPPORT THE UNIT WHILE TAKING OUT THE BOLTS OR THE UNIT WILL CRASH
4) Two people can then lift the unit from the support on the wall.

most over the range micos are secured by either 2 or 4 screws from above usually inside a cabinet or storage above remove those disconnect or pull away venting if vents above,, u willl need two people sometimes to help hold micro..... i would have to see the unit some might also have trim pieces if its more of a built in situation hope this helps

It may be a broken door open lever or a worn or broken door open button.

If it's an owner the range type, you can likely get to and replace the door latch parts by just removing the control panel assembly.

If it's a counter top unit, you will need to remove the outer cover to get to the door latching parts.

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

many over the range types can be vented inside if a charcoal filter is used, which you must replace about every six months.

Otherwise, you will need to install a vent system in the kirtchen.

no Mdicker, there is no safety thing that it would not run if there is a bulb missing or not installed.
i'm guessing that there is a fuse inside that went out when the bulb broke.
