RTD315W home theater system

Everything works great so far....the one problem I am having is my dvd player lost its color capability. I am sure it is a simple setting somewhere but I cannot find it. My flat scren on cable is in color and my games are in color but when I go to watch a movie it is now in black and white...it did do color the first four movies we watched.

SOURCE: Unlock parental control on RCA RTD160 home theater

Pasted directly from the user manual. (Had a very hard time finding it, actually...)

"Restore to default settings
When the receiver is on and the disc tray is opened, press
SUBWOOFER for 5 seconds until the screen goes black,
then the initial language selection menu will appear.
All system settings will be restored to default, the parental
password will also be reset."

Wow. How easy is it for kids to just read the manual and figure THAT one out, eh? (Wow. Way to go, RCA! Whoo! *laughs*)

For your convenience, I am posting the user manual on my personal server for your download. I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get to it. It wasn't even on RCA's site, either. I'll make it easy for you.

Click HERE to download the PDF manual from my server.

Enjoy. :)

SOURCE: I have a new 52"

I have the same situation....what I have done is connected my Blue ray to the TV via the HDMI connection and the audio to the RTDVD1 via an Optical cable. I find this is the best connection and sound reproduction so far. The input of the RTDVD is the SAT/Optical input and then switch the source to SAT/OPT. You will have to make adjustments in the BlueRay player's audio setup to enable the 5.1 DB digital sound etc.

SOURCE: RCA RTD315W Receiver/DVD LED display

If you are referring to the information display, it doesn't activate until you take the system out of standby (the bright blue LED at the corner is shining). When you hit the OFF button (on the system or the remote) and the blue LED shuts off, your info display comes on and says WELCOME.

SOURCE: RCA Home Theater model RTD315W

  • You need to change your audio settings in your TVs audio menu. Sounds like it is set to play only external source when connected, There will be a setting for all speakers to play, including TV's. Have your TV's volume up just a hair when changing your settings and you will be able to hear when it changes to what you want.
